I think if you do sat's it should be Sat. night.........Race at 6Pm?.....Just got my mini cooper running to run onroad on thursdays...at least those guys show up.....But if I hear a decent crowd is headed up I will race oval...

I dont like Sat. afternoons either.I work until 5 on Sat.I think sat night is the way to go.I was at rchover tonight and Jermey was talking about maybe having a trophy race in Feb.What do you guys think?

How did things work out for tonight? I hope things turn around for you guys. Just so you know your not alone, We've had our new track in Mass ready to race for a few weeks now, and havnt had a race yet. Grant it, it's 1/18th scale but we're hoping to see a turn out soon. John, You selling out? You should hold on to that chassis and get some track time at RC Hover to prep for the Winterblast at turn 4 coming the end fo Feb.

i might be willing to go this week, next week is out to close to leaving for the birds. but do we even have a chance of getting 8 guys to race, we have not had that many yet.

i was lookin at some of the old postings because i havent been on in a while and its almost sad to read i hate seeing bad news that not enough guys are showing up. its sad to hear your postings rick its almost like your giving up on oval forever and its sad cause back at ricks you were one of this best oval drivers i seen even though i only know the guys from ricks but back to the subject at hand i think maybe we should stop the friday nights and try saturday again it will benifit the guys from outta state that read this forum and post that saturday will be better for me. we tried to get our good friends from ricks to come hear but its like they dont want to or they dont bother or they dont even care. I hate to see this place go,its a great place to race.I think that it is just as someone else posted earlier that there isnt enough local oval people in this area.Look at me for instance,I would love to race every week but money is very tight,so when you have very few people racing to start with when one doesnt show it really affects the group.I may be able to race every week but I dont know until the night before.I think we should talk to Jeremy and tell him we would rather race on Sat. nights and try it again,If you go to his web site and check out the poll he put up the majority of people said they could race sat. night.So I say we do it and hopefully all show up.

Dennis......Thanks you for the kind words.....I cant hold a candle in the wind to others who raced at Swansea (Mike..Nick..ect) but I like to think I show up and race as hard as I can...and that I show up and support the local track.....I havnt given up on oval....I am just really dis-appointed on all the guys who are not showing up.....I'll fool around on thursday nights but if I hear people are going to race Ill be there................Who's going this friday..

i will see if nick is interested but i know he is pretty disgusted with the situation there. i think sisson is hitting hard right now so i do not think he would be in. and again i think going back to saturdays would be better

I believe they do have road course racing. Look threrw thread there is a number to call the store and check the days/classes. At least i think they posted there number.

I called today at 2:30 and they said only one other person called to race!So no racing again.I think its a lost cause.

dang that dont sound like good raceing to me. ??? what did everybody give up on raceing after ricks? some of those guys have been raceing oval for like 10 years or more..maybee people just dont have the extra money to throw around..

did not want to offer my 2 cents, but I think twenty dollars a night is a little much for a weekly race. jmo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No oval racing the last 2 weeks.I dont think there is enough interest in this area.Its a great track.As far as entry fee of $20,I think it might be a little steep but that fee includes as many classes as you want to race.I dont think that is why there are no oval racers.I think between the economy and all of the big events that other tracks are having it pulls potenial racers away from here.The owner was thinking of having a trophy race next month to try and bring cars in,and he said maybe only have oval racing twice a month.Maybe switch back to saturday nights.I dont know if he has made any decisions yet or not.

i understand where some guys could have problems with the entry fee, but it was 8 dollars when i started racing 20 years ago. so thats really not that big of a jump, i know that a round of golf cost me 32 dollars 2 summers ago and i heard that it is over 40 now. a lot more money and only for about 4 hours less then what a day of racing is.

i dont race oval anymore but some guys have alot of money in gear and to keep it in a box and use twice a month mite drive guys even farther away from oval at this place??? just my 02

i think the twice a month might work, esp if it is on a saturday. John all these guys have there stuff sitting at home now dont think twice a month is going to make it worse

I think $20 is to much for a night of racing I was racing 2nights a week at rick's and was only paying $15. I didn't know it was $20 a night until I saw Ken post tonight. I think at that price he is not helping the track.

Saturdays are better for the out of stater's. As for fees, I would be more then happy to pay 20. Right now running TC it cost me 30 per night.

For the NE Grand Slam it cost me 70.00 for 2 classes this weekend for Friday night to Sunday.

Everyone complaints "we have no place to run", then when you get a place to run you complain the "fees are to high". What do you think the costs are to run a track? Electric? Heat?

I know money is tight, I haven't worked since the 3RD week of December. I race every week doing TC because there aren't any tracks on Long Island. I race once in a while at Turn4 because it a 3 1/2 hour drive up and 3 1/2 back. Waterbury (spelling) is starting to run oval which is even closer to me.

Turn4 is having a big race the last weekend February and I will be stay there for the weekend. If I was to race at your track I would stay at my son's place in Mass. and go home on Sunday.

You have thousands of dollars worth of equipment, and won't have a place to race, now what is all that equipment worth?

sat night twice a month is fine with me.....I'll race whatever......Thats why I always run 2 classes....I figure 10.00 a class.....I used to spend that between beer,chinese and entry fee at ricks anyway....Im just happy we have a place to race...

2 hours its 1 exit past kittery, heading up there now. and as far as the entry most tracks right now are between 15-20 dollars. the days of 10 dollar entry fees are gone, overhead is way more then it used to be.

I posted on Rchovers web site asking Jeremy what he wanted to do about maybe racing twice a month.So we will see what he says.
