View Full Version : RcHover, Foxboro Mass DRAmvr94 12-05-2008, 04:04 PM im kinda in the middle on this one bud3738 12-05-2008, 07:19 PM its too bad we dont all get together and be thankfull we have a place to race at....... we were all sad when our place closed......Just keep trying I guess GT2 12-05-2008, 10:26 PM Did you guys see the new oval pan car from Mcpappy racing? GT2 12-06-2008, 07:25 AM I will be ther tonight, but I wont get there to about 5:30 jayp4969 12-06-2008, 03:43 PM What are you guy's racing currently? Any sk's? bud3738 12-06-2008, 08:47 PM Just came back from the track.....The ownership stated that for the next few weeks they will try Friday Night racing......1st qaulifier goes out at 7:00PM.....They want to see how many more guys start to show up....( For all those...I cant race Sat night)..this is the news you have been waiting for...SO lets get together and support this fun track! . You will see a few s/ks each week....trying to build on thsi class.......it is a great s/k track......side by side racing omnis85 12-06-2008, 09:07 PM I have seen it too many times, looks like its starting to happen at rcmadness as well with more classes of the week. You start adding more classes, people get bored of it come up with another idea, rules and a class only for the owner to tell you not enough people just going to do road course were there is more kids or some crap. I have not had a chance to check the track out, I am almost done building my car, I know a few of my guys went there to check it out and had positive things to say about it. I think this track is only 45mins from me TOO!!!! I will talk to the guys soon and try to come up and race the SK cars. DRAmvr94 12-06-2008, 10:22 PM its too bad we dont all get together and be thankfull we have a place to race at....... we were all sad when our place closed......Just keep trying I guess your absolutly right rick. it was a dark day when ricks closed and we were fortunate and lucky enough to have rchover open a track not too far away. so tell all the local racers you come in contact with and tell them about this place GT2 12-06-2008, 10:22 PM To every one that helped me out tonight, thankyou.I will be there Fri. night, at aroud 7.I dont get out of work until 6 but I will be there. GT2 12-06-2008, 11:34 PM Come on guys, lets all get together and start racing before we loss this place,Tonight was my first night, had alot of fun on the track. bud3738 12-07-2008, 07:53 AM hey Gordon..If your running late well have a pack all charged up for you to use in the 1st heat.........any help dont be afraid to ask....Nice meeting you GT2 12-07-2008, 12:28 PM Thanks Rick, that would be great. It was nice to meet you and all the guys.I may have to bring my daughter with me if my wife is working Fri. night.I had a great time last night. ud21 12-07-2008, 06:14 PM well it will be interesting to see if this friday thing works or not, i know for me and nick it is out but if 2 cant go and ten will then that is what is needed to keep oval alive in this area jayp4969 12-07-2008, 06:46 PM Hey there, can anyone give me an actual run down on the track? Pinion and spur size? Front end springs? T-Plate? Is it 17.5 4 cell? What's the preferred tires? Thanks, I'm gonna try to make it within a week or two and just wanted to see what I need to do... ud21 12-07-2008, 06:58 PM 17.5 4 cell is the pan car class. pinion/spur is tough without tire size but rollout is around 3.0. i would start with red front springs, blue side springs. t-plate either fiberglass .063 45 degree no center screw, or orc super soft spring steel. as far as tires i run tm tiers lr-g5,rr-g4,lf-grey,rf-g6. For bsr's go with pearl white lr,white rr,white lf, 70/30 grey/silver rf. if any more questions dont hesitate to ask. Mike Mcdermott Team Hyperdrive Pro-built rc team ohp tm-racing tires jayp4969 12-07-2008, 07:03 PM ok cool... I'm gonna try to run some bsr's. What is the sk class then? I'm not too big into the pan car stuff. My tire size is 2.20 so what would be a good starting pinion and spur set up? What do they run for batteries and a motor in the sk's up there? Also where exactly is it? I'm from SE ct so I'll need an address. ud21 12-07-2008, 07:08 PM for a address go to rchover.com. i am not sure about the sk stuff rick r. his handle is bud3738 would be able to clue you in on the sk cars he runs them. jayp4969 12-07-2008, 07:12 PM oh ok cool, i may run pan but it depends on who's running sk's. I'm definetly more comfortable with the sk's. Maybe he'll chime in here pretty soon? I take it a 7 p.m. start means qualifying starts at 7? I also take it that they are 4 minute heats and how long are the mains? Also do I need to bring anything to pit with tables/chairs or is it all there? Thanks again... ud21 12-07-2008, 07:26 PM tables and chairs are there a power strip can come in handy, on saturdays it has been 3 4 minute heats and a 4 minute main, i would assume the same schedule for fridays. jayp4969 12-07-2008, 08:34 PM Alright cool. Thanks! If anyone can answer my previous questions about sk's that'd be great. bud3738 12-07-2008, 09:32 PM S/K's would be the same rollout...front springs.....they have no side shocks...mike hit it on the head..........Just show up and we will help you out......you will be close... .Mike I hope you and Nick can still show..Maybe not every week but once in a while.... The track MNGMT is doing this to see if there is more of an interest on fridays...The turnout for Sat's is not cutting it...Support this nice track! ud21 12-07-2008, 09:55 PM i know what you mean nick might be able to do every other week, as for me not sure we start are offseason lifting program this week, so i dont know what time i can get out of there on a friday plus i just sent my gfx back to be lipo upgraded so i am down a charger. jayp4969 12-07-2008, 09:59 PM Alright cool, not sure if this friday will work but I'll be trying hard for the following one. I hope you guys do the friday night thing permanetly I can bring 2 others with me for the sk's also. See you guys soon with the neon orange 49! bud3738 12-07-2008, 11:07 PM the friday night deal will stay if people commit to it.......Say what you want about onroad guys but they are loyal to thier tracks...Never understood why oval guys are not...no one spends more time or money on thier stuff... RCRacer00 12-09-2008, 02:22 PM Watch out for that Jayp guy! No just kidding guys. Jay ran at our track in Stafford just about all summer and let me tell ya. He handled the banked track very nicly after a couple weeks. Jay dont hesitate to ask these guys for help Rick R, Ken P just a couple of the great guys that are at this track. You'll have a great time racing with these guys. And i have to plug. Our new track is finally gonna be open this weekend. I hope the friday night thing works out for you guys better. jayp4969 12-09-2008, 05:52 PM LOL Thanks for the good words there Mike.... I miss Turn 4 but I'm afraid until after xmas I can't play on sundays! I am pretty bummed and I'm trying to get covered so I can atleast make the SK Shootout! I am definetly bummed work took over the racing even on sundays! The car is all cleaned up and ready to roll so I'll catch ya soon! Oh and does RCHover have transponders or do I need to get one? Anyone have a rental? bud3738 12-09-2008, 06:32 PM I think they have them...... jayp4969 12-09-2008, 06:45 PM Ok cool thanks! We'll see ya on friday GT2 12-10-2008, 12:09 AM They do have transponders, I used one last week. GT2 12-10-2008, 11:18 AM Hey guys,Talked to Jermey today(owner of rc hover) He said he was only going to let oval run a few more weeks unless the car count comes up.Lets not let this place go.Its a great place to race.As long as we get more cars he will keep oval racing going.Racing starts at 7pm on Friday nights now.So how many of you are coming out to race this week? bud3738 12-10-2008, 03:12 PM ill be there omnis85 12-10-2008, 04:57 PM I got a bunch of us coming up on friday... who is going to run SK's with us?should be atleast 5-6of us jims 12-10-2008, 05:46 PM as of right now I will be there bud3738 12-10-2008, 06:16 PM we should have 2 heats...Ken Perry said he will be there.... omnis85 12-10-2008, 06:58 PM what are you guys running for motors? just novaks? bud3738 12-10-2008, 08:12 PM yes..... ud21 12-10-2008, 08:52 PM i dont know what is more sad the fact we cant get enough racers to show or the owner is only willing to give it a month to get off the ground. well the guys that could not show on saturdays got here wish see if they show or not, i know i tried to make saturdays work, so i guess i will have to go back to driving 2 hours on a sunday to go to maximus. DRAmvr94 12-11-2008, 03:28 PM the way its sounds a lot of guys are going to run sk on friday maybe the sk drivers will start to pick up and then there can be the sk class and pancars. How many pancars have been showing up. ud21 12-11-2008, 03:33 PM the three weeks that we raced it was only 3 or 4. nick is gonna try and make it tomorrow night. i am hoping to but it will depend what time i can get out of football DRAmvr94 12-11-2008, 03:46 PM yea im putin the car together tryin to get a motor and speed control other then that te cars just about ready i dont think im going to be able to race intill after the holidays. hopefully they wont give up hope on this track the driver count will go up and i dont think a month is enough time but we will see ud21 12-11-2008, 04:10 PM i know but that is what we are up against this is a real tough time of the year to start things up, had the track opened in september i think that it at least would have had a better chance if any guys still have brushed stock motors, they can run with the brushless guys the speeds are compareable and would help get the pan car count up. at this point i just want to see a couple of heats either pan or sk ScaleRacer 12-11-2008, 05:00 PM People, don't worry about us closing down the oval portion of the track in a months time. Jeremy is thinking about the money he is putting out to have me there to run the races and if we get more then 8 or so drivers a night it will be sure to stay open. Ill be sure to keep this thing rolling for at least till February. Lets try to get some SK action going on and as Mike said brushless and brushed can run together to build the heats up. Now lets not make anymore excuses and get the cars on the track :woohoo: bud3738 12-11-2008, 06:06 PM well said! omnis85 12-11-2008, 06:16 PM god I wish I had a home track to argue about... you guys have a good thing going, I would do what it takes to keep it, as fast as places have been closing this year, I would be happy to have a track near me to call home and support it. See ya tomorrow night!!! GT2 12-11-2008, 06:45 PM what kind of brushed motors can we run? ud21 12-11-2008, 07:56 PM stock 27turn motors, epic blue motor GT2 12-11-2008, 08:46 PM thanks ud21 12-11-2008, 08:48 PM no problem suckfish 12-12-2008, 06:09 AM KSKT will be thier..
