TIA, Rick swtour 10-17-2008, 04:48 PM I've heard there is a little difference in the wire used for the crawler (no confirmation) and Charlie did tell me the CRAWLER version doesn't have the Thermal Sensor circuit. (I'm really suprised this hasn't be asked before....) mel 10-19-2008, 05:52 PM The specs of the motors are on the Novak web site. The crawler motor is heavier. I wonder why that is? Has anyone tested this motor on a meter? KOZ 10-20-2008, 02:03 AM The specs of the motors are on the Novak web site. The crawler motor is heavier. I wonder why that is? Has anyone tested this motor on a meter? The crawler mill most likely has a bonded rotor. swtour 10-20-2008, 02:17 AM NOVAK's web site shows they are Sintered...I've been going to ask Charlie what else was different. Our LHS has two of the CRAWLER versions in stock (and they are going out of business) so they may work good for our Local racers in their oval cars. OvalTrucker 10-21-2008, 09:52 PM I've been racing a Crawler motor since we started 21.5/LiPo up here in Michigan last February. I called Novak before I bought it and they said the only difference is the Crawler does not have thermal protection. I can't explain the weight difference, Novak's spec sheet says the Crawler is 0.12 ounces heavier. The SS can is "beveled" at the pinion end, my Crawler is not. That could be part or all of it. The reason I bought a Crawler was because the SS21.5 was out of stock. My Crawler does have the sintered rotor. I suppose I would say I'm competitive with it. If I was a better driver I would probably be getting 2 or 3 more laps with mine and would be running with the guys that are running SS21.5's. At our last race we had 3 heats of 21.5's. The top 2 guys in the "C" were only a couple laps slower than the winner of the "A". vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
