So... having been out of the hobby for 30 years- my first and only car being an early Associated 1/8 scale gas car (was called gas back then!), I have a soft spot for the big, fast gas ('scuse me, nitro!) cars.. any activity still going on with them? Or did they just get too fast? Electric's improve that much/pushed them out? I still see 1/10 gas.. why not 1/8? Anyone still making the cars? A Google search didn't reveal much current.
Thanks for any updates you can offer!

Yep. I know what you mean. I can remember the AE250 & 500 class nitro cars
but if you want to go big you need to look into one of the hottest sports going 1/4 scale racing. It's back and growing fast.

I just bought an old RC500 (like the one I raced as a kid)to bring back memories. Too cool!

Just spent some time watching some 1/8 scale nitro roadracing on youtube... man, what a trip! That has to be my ultimate goal...
Wish I still had my RC-100!

It still exists. Although im sure someone will say otherwise, they are so fast and expensive that they really arent a club type class. Plus you need a big track to run them.

I noticed a number of Brushless/LiPo 1/8 scale on-road cars at the Chicago hobby show.

One track that still races large scale on-road is Joyce Park in the Cincinnati, OH area. Here is a link to the club that runs at that track - http://www.tsrcar.com/
