Just a reminder that the SWT Series will be at the ENCINO VELODROME Saturday Oct. 18th (Tomorrow)

Gates should open around 7:00 a.m.

Weather is predicted to be in the low to mid 80's and clear..

(3) tight points battles are going on, plus guys are looking to break some records.

Currently, just TWO drivers in the 17.5/LIPO class belong to "CLUB 31", Larry Ruby and Jason Hastings both have turned the fastest runs...

Don't count out the OTHER Fast guys though - there were some FAST runs on the practice day a couple weeks ago.

21.5/LIPO is sitting at 28 laps, but BUCK VanPatten looked like he might have a 29 lap car at the last race...WILL he be able to grab the TQ point..and set another NEW record tomorrow?

Brad Muther and John Miles come in to the track separated in points by a SINGLE point. This should be a good battle ALL day.

Saturday at the VELODROME we had another day of GREAT racing in ALL 3 classes...

Fresh off his WIN and CRAZY FAST "World Record" Speed Run at the ISC (International Speed Challenge) at Rockingham N.C. Nic Case would become the 4th driver to join the 31 lap club in the 17.5/LIPO class.

Case would edge out Gary Hamilton who had set tq in an earlier round also joining the 31 lap club.

Nic Case, RC's KING of SPEED not only set the TQ, but it was a Track Record...and he went on to WIN the "A" Main event.

John Miles would grab the NASTRUCK TQ over Brad Muther, who came into todays event with a ONE point lead over Miles.

The TQ spot earns a single point, so headed into the main the duo was in a dead heat TIE for the points championship.

Miles wouldn't fair so well in the main, as he got collected and ended up in the wall, thus ending his main run prematurely. Muther would go on the WIN his THIRD "Nastruck" A-main on the VELO in '08.

In 21.5, everyone expected "Uncle Buck" Buck VanPatten to be the car to chase. VanPatten holds the 21.5 class TRACK RECORD, but he suffered handling issues and was never really a factor.

Arnold Brittain would set the pace this month. Brittain who was on hand a few weeks ago for the VELO Practice day, had his car dialed by the 2nd practice run and he was able to pull some great holeshots.

Arnold's luck didn't treat him well in the MAIN as he got spun and ended up "high centered" on the entrance to turn one.

John Miles would take the early lead followed closely by Bryan Myers and Sean Woodside...this threesome would run nose to tail for most of the race, Woodside grabbing 2nd from Myers when the three cars came on a crash in turns 1-2. Woodside and Miles would touch in turns 3-4 causing the charging Woodside to spin and Myers was able to get back on Miles bumper.

Myers was charging hard to run John down, but fell about a lap short of being able to make a move for the Win, giving MILES his first 21.5/LIPO win in a SWTour event.

Myers 2nd place finish let him hang on to his narrow points lead...with Miles solidly moving into 2nd in the standings.

NEXT and FINAL STOP of the 2008 Season -

McDermont Field House - LINDSAY CA - Saturday NOVEMBER 15th for some AWESOME Carpet Oval Racing...and a Series Championship Trophy Presentation.
