Battlestar Galactica returns at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Jan. 16, 2009, with the remaining episodes of its fourth and final season, SCI FI Channel announced.
Kewl!
PerfesserCoffee 10-17-2008, 06:19 PM HD repeats in the meantime, I suppose.
bigjimslade 10-27-2008, 03:23 AM I have to wonder what's going on with the Sci-Fi channel these days. Endless schlock grade D made for TV movies, ghosthunters, and Pro Westling.
I would just like to see old Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.
Nova Designs 10-27-2008, 07:22 PM Well if you like the lineup on SciFi you can thank NBC since they own it.
Explains a lot, doesn't it.
jheilman 10-27-2008, 09:15 PM Except for Galactica, I never watch the channel. What does that say that a hard-core sci-fi avoids the sci-fi channel? Occasionally they have some decent programming, but it's mostly crap that gives sci-fi a bad name. They could have a classics theater (like the TCM of sci-fi), TV movies of sci-fi novels, so many things that would interest me. But no, monster of the week grade D fluff.

Same here. I've been getting into the movies shown on fearnet which we've just got on cable here. Great stuff!
Griffworks 10-28-2008, 01:27 PM While you guys are blaming someone, look to those license holders of those old classic movies, TV Shows and the like that you'd like to see. Part of the reason that SFC doesn't run a lot of that stuff is that their licensing rights cost too much 'cause the holders seem to think they've got Gold or something. Sorta like how some of the old TV Shows from the 70's & 80's have crappy music instead of the original stuff - WKRP and "The Greatest American Hero" come to mind!
Not sayin' that SFC is perfect, but just keep that in mind, as well.

Explains a lot, doesn't it. If this is true, then that explains it. Wasn't it NBC who screwed up the ratings for the original Star Trek? Something tells me that NBC just isn't a true scifi supporter.
As for the cost of licensing good shows. the SFC could easily make money by showing the good stuff and adjusting their advertising fee by showing just how large of an audience they have instead of running all of us away with **** like ECW :freak:
