View Full Version : Pledge "with" Future?
NTxSlotCars 10-13-2008, 08:54 PM I've been to several stores and a few Walmarts around here and haven't been able to find any Future floor wax. I've seen a place for it at a couple of Walmarts, only one space, sold out. This made me think 2 things, either WM mgmt isn't smart enough to stock more than one space on the shelf for a product that sells out every week, OR, this item is about to be discontinued. (Which would figure, I think I could live completely, comfortably, just on all the items that I liked that have been discontinued in my life.)
Today, I found Pledge "with" Future in the spot marked for Future. It had the correct SKU#. I may have passed this up in other stores looking for the famous Future bottle. Did Pledge buy Future?
Is this stuff the same as Future? Or am I screwed again by the Discontinued:jest:Bandit?

1976Cordoba 10-13-2008, 09:08 PM The first time the "Discontinued Bandit" got me was when I was a kid -- he made off with my favorite flavor of Cap'n Crunch.
(Can't recall exactly but I think it was chocolate peanut butter)

NTxSlotCars 10-13-2008, 09:13 PM Yeah, from toys, to food, to cleaners, to Tycos, to tools, to this stuff, I've been robbed blind by the Discontinued Bandit!
:(
NTxSlotCars 10-13-2008, 09:28 PM Thanks for relief Doba!:p I bought some just in case.
Things the Discontinued:jest:Bandit made off with.....
Sunshine 'Lemon Cooler' Cookies (great with ice tea)
Nabisco corregated trays (in the cookie packages)
the real Pop Weaver microwave popcorn
Lanolin hand cleaner
Spic 'n' Span liquid (the green stuff, great for stripping paint, no plastic damage)
'Kelly Super Sport' tires (on Crager SS rims)
Levi's 501's (with the all steel buttons)
I know there's more.

NTxSlotCars 10-13-2008, 10:44 PM For my graduation, senior year 87, we went to look for me a new car. I had been looking through magazines for a year and knew what I really wanted, a 5.0 Capri. They had the hatch back with room for my musical equipment, and it was sporty. The insurance was gonna be kinda high, but not as much as a Mustang. We went to the dealership to check it out. 1986 was the last year for the Capri. There was none left.
Foiled again.
:jest:
(I think the Bandit may have done me a favor on this one, I decided to keep my 72 Nova.)

1976Cordoba 10-14-2008, 07:09 PM . . . Marathon bars (chocolate covered carmel in a twisty shape)
Amen to that! Marathon bars were awesome!
Thankfully, there's a fix for that.

I've ordered these from them in the past and they are a Marathon bar -- a smaller version, I believe, since I was knee-high to a grasshopper when they were 'discontinued' -- and I seem to recall the original Marathon bar being pretty long. Maybe it was the 'kid perspective' of life. :)
Still, these rock just like a Marathon bar. :woohoo::woohoo:
rudykizuty 10-14-2008, 07:24 PM There used to be a small bar/resturant chain in the Philly area called Rib-It. They had my all-time favorite BBQ sauce. You used to be able to get bottles of it at the restaurants and at the local supermarket. Unfortunately, the chain went under several years ago and that was the end of that.
Bennigan's blue cheese dressing was the bomb also. The only blue cheese dressing I ever cared for. They went out of business two month's ago.
So, the moral of the story is, if you have a unique condiment capable of winning taste tests and awards, and I show up for dinner......look out :freak:

Yes, the Pledge product is the same as the Future Product. I have been successfully using it for about a year.
NTxSlotCars 10-21-2008, 02:11 PM Has anyone tried Future on a 1:1 car?

Thanks, now I'm gonna waste a ton of money on old candy, lol. I love anything "retro".
NTxSlotCars 10-26-2008, 11:51 PM Well, my wife used all my Future on the floor. Imagine that! Now I'm gonna have to hide it. She says they have the same thing in Brasil under a different name. AND, you can buy it in colors there. I like the clear.

Anyone ever use this stuff on a real car?

Rich,
Find a small hidden area somewhere on your car and give it a try. Can't imagine it doing anything except giving you a little more shine. :) rr
