Thanks to Hurricane Ike and renovating my Custom Outlaws Shop I keep finding more Customs that have been packed away for years.

Here's a Talbot Lago Limo.
The front is a Talbot Lago, the rear is a Talbot Lago and in the middle is a Fat Fender 40.

HotWheels should really make more Coupes and Sedans with large pontoon fenders from the 30's and 40's.

Notice the front of the Custom.
The face of the HW's issued Talbot Lago only comes down about half way on the casting and then stops.
I used QuikSteel to create a full faced Custom version.

The rear window of the Talbo Lago is filled in and a sunroof is now present a little further up on the roof.

Just like the Fat Fender and Swoop Coupe combo I posted earlier, this Talbot Lago and Fat fender were very close to a natural fit.

QuikSteel was also used to extend the rear of the body almost 3/16".
Wheel wells were cut into the rear fenders to expose some nice whitewall tires.

VERY cool............... Love the Limo Genre - not done enough or done poorly in the 1/64th scale world by Manufacturers........

What a neat choice of castings to merge! This thing looks great! Will you finish it? I know with an older project, it somtimes get pushed to the side just due to a busy, current build list.

Like that one Pat. Very classic look. White walls sound like classic is the way your heading. Fight the urge to put decals or flames on it. :p

That Quik Steel's good stuff for sculpting. A buddy told me about it a couple years ago. You can do things with it J&B won't do since it starts out as a "clay." I still like the J&B for jointing pieces together and filling body lines etc. Like J&B I always find I knead up more QS than I use. The directions say you can slow the curing process to about 20 minutes with water. Never really tried that. So I don't know how much water.

Again nice ride. Like to see it finished myself.

Thanks CH,
Can't put my InkJet Decals on these dark colors,

Yes I use QuikSteel for all the building and like you I prefer JB for filler, then Red Spot Putty for fine filler after shaping and wet sanding.
You can use JB for building if you'll just wait a couple of minutes for it to begin setting up from a creamlike liquid into a more substantial clay.
As far as slowing the process I have added Lacquer Thinner to JB and brushed it on over rough areas for a very thin filler.
Anything with JB or QuikSteel always goes under my heatlamps, in my ovens, for quick curing.

I bought some fat WhiteWalls last Saturday for some Fat Fenders I'm doing but I have some great looking Racing Champion WhiteWalls with wire wheels I'll put on this Limo.

I should say that these Limo's were a rewarding experience to make but my head has been into designing graphics for quite a while now.
For me a great looking Decal or Custom Card is just as satisfying as a week or two of sanding and shaping. And I don't get near as dirty doing it.

With that said I've picked up some of the recent red Whipped Creamers for their clear roofs so it looks like there is some cutting and filing to be done very soon.

Thanks for all the good comments everyone,

There's no talk like HobbyTalk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
