This might be an old trick but it was new to me...
After getting back up from the ground when I priced some blue leds I need for my P/L Enterprise Refit I thought I try an experiment. I know that you can paint leds but when I've tried they turn out bad... too dull or patchy colour spectums. So I got some floor polish and added some 60/40 blue paint and dark blue ink and then dipped the leds used a tissue to soak up the excess and hung them upside down. I did this about 4 to 5 times and tested them...:thumbsup: I even used the left over mix on a piece of clear blister pack with two coats, I added a litle more ink on that though and wow!!! Now I know how I'll be doing the main sensor dome, Inner core dome, Impulse engines and nacelles.
Like I said it may be an old trick. But this old dog taught himself a new one :p

Hi AJ,
I'm not sure what is too much for blue LEDs but I buy hundreds at a time from
China off E-Bay for about $.09 each plus shipping. Take a look here.
Send me an email if you'd like, it looks like the link is not posting right.

Thanks for the link. I wouldn't normally trust buying stuff from China, but they have a good rating and seem legit. I ordered a set of 105 various colors (15 of each) along with free resistors for $10.99 shipped. And with the right resistors, I can run everything in the model off a single 12 volt source.

Hi Timothyn1967,
I have buying electronic parts from China, off E-Bay for years and have never
been burned..... Just take a good look at their feedback score ( better then
96%) and pay with Paypal, you should have no problems. I am waiting for a
set of the 105 various color LEDs and a set of Flash LEDs to use on my robot
from the Chariot build and Seaview control room walls.
