DOUGHBOY 10-03-2008, 11:45 PM Since Protoform Doesn't Have There Cot Body Available Yet Who Is Currently Making The Best One Out There Right Now... Any Info On This Would Be Awsome I Am Looking To Get One So I Can Start Experimenting With It So I May Actually Be Ahea Of The Curve When We All Start To Run Them
C43GO 10-04-2008, 01:51 AM I
know McCallister is making them that is the only other one I know of.
swtour 10-04-2008, 01:59 AM Gary makes 3 different COT's I believe
Gary McAllister 10-04-2008, 09:41 PM Doughboy-
We originally came out with a generic COT body that can be decaled as any of the brands. I is a little on the wide side to be sure to cover most 1/10th cars.
We also have the Impala COT and Fusion COT which are smaller overall and fit well on current Pan cars. They are very detailed in the hood and nose area for the Impala and Fusion. I think you'll like the fit and look of the Impala and Fusion. They all come with add on wings and instructions.
Don't forget all of our product from beginning to end is 100% made in the USA.
Thanks
Gary McAllister
Benracin' 10-04-2008, 09:52 PM I just got one of the McAllister Impala bodies, it's at the paint shop now. One of the other racers at our club has his all done and it looks great. Our club decided to go with a spec class this year with C.O.T. bodies, 17.5, spec batteries and tires. It looks to be the biggest class so far.

ToddFalkowski 10-06-2008, 03:09 PM I'm gonna hope it never comes to the day we "have" to run those taxicabs.
James35 10-06-2008, 04:28 PM Hehe, yeah, I'm with you on that! COT bodies are pretty darn ugly.
swtour 10-06-2008, 04:35 PM I have to say... I kinda like the new FUSION one (maybe it's just the paintjob..as an edwards fan) but, 1/2 dozen of these running around the track...I think they look ok.

Under the idea that J.B. had a little over a year ago for a BL/LIPO Spec type of class...
These would be a fairly low buck, not have to worry about the SPONSORED Pro's polluting the class type of class for the weekend warriors.
Couple this body with the LIPO 2400 Orion pack as a spec pack, with a 21.5 motor, and they'd probably run a few .10ths slower than the conventional 21.5/lipo class..and be a bit cheaper.
bud3738 10-08-2008, 05:00 PM The day we have to convert to COT Im hoping oval nation will switch to the truck....I think the cot would be good for a spec only class

Just got one myself and it is a sweet body, going to put it on a touring car to run oval. It doesn't look much like the full sized cot, but I like it.
XXX-Steve 08-10-2009, 02:58 AM Yeah, I was just looking into getting one of these and was worried about how they would look. I'm actually not a big fan of the COT style, but this Protoform shell is awesome.
Ordered!

If we ever switch to these bodies for all oval classes, I will officially end my oval days and become a full-time off-road guy!
The new Protoform COT is not bad looking, but I am still not a fan of the COT style bodies. It is fine for a beginner/spec class I think, but not for all oval classes. Hopefully, it never gets to that.
