Big Dog 10-01-2008, 10:35 AM rcraceregistration.com should be up today, however I cant get ahold of Jon Martin to see why its no as of yet. Yeah they accept CC, Paypal. However you can mail it in to us and save a $3 service charge. The max entries for the race is 400 in any combination.

pink_sleeve 10-01-2008, 06:27 PM Is there any truth to Lipo being allowed in the stock classes?
Scott54 10-01-2008, 06:38 PM Is there any truth to Lipo being allowed in the stock classes?
I heard they were allowing lipo in all classes too. I think I read it on the CRCRC forum.

Jo jo FRY 10-04-2008, 09:15 AM Are you gonna make the jumps electric frendly this year? :)
JOSH MILLIREN 10-04-2008, 01:08 PM yea last year there was that huge jump in the middle of the track. are the lower mains going to be 5 mins in the electric classes
PreFontainerc76 10-04-2008, 03:44 PM I don't think 13:5's should be legal in stock. Usually, 13:5 is super stock
Big Dog 10-04-2008, 11:44 PM yes, jumps will be more friendly to the cars. all mains are 7 mins with the exception of outlaw, it will be 20 mins
Scott54 10-05-2008, 01:21 AM I don't think 13:5's should be legal in stock. Usually, 13:5 is super stock
A month after this race, ROAR is changing the stock rules to include 13.5s. I don't think too many tracks actually followed Roar rules close enough to NOT allow 13.5s in the last year. I know there were some, but at least not at the tracks I race at.
JOSH MILLIREN 10-05-2008, 10:07 AM do the 13.5s have to have the colored timing ring on them because the new lrp and the novaks have the orange rings and then some of the other motors don't
Big Dog 10-05-2008, 09:54 PM any color you want, it just has to be 13.5

Uncle E 11-10-2008, 12:02 AM 1/8th Electric??????
badassrevo 11-10-2008, 09:10 AM They posted that they will not run 1/8th electric. it's too bad that they don't want to help the hobby grow.
http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric-off-road/252433-8th-scale-electric-classes-being-added-large-events.html
Big Dog 11-10-2008, 03:21 PM Badrevo....Its not that we dont want the hobby to grow, that statement is furthest from the truth!! The intrest level here is nothing. When I did open the entry for the 1/8 electric last year, it was like pulling teeth to get the 12 people that did show! So do you see my delima? If I did make a class for 1/8 electric it would have to run on nitro days because of cars tear a fresh track to pieces.
Your statement like that does nothing for the hobby. Its just YOUR OPNION that you like electric over nitro. The intrest is low, at least the majority of the people whom I have talked to, big names, and it will be a "lets see for next year". That also goes for the slash class.

Makes sense in regards to the track.
Interest level might be higher for those who can't run indoor nitro.
Regarding the big names; a title for the taking!?! I for one would love to take it!
Understand, I just think guys had high hopes for this class at CRCRC this year. Not a bad thing, just eager for it!

Big Dog 11-12-2008, 09:02 AM If they show at club races, they will show at the Jan race. I have been to many clubs and take note of the classes and the size of them. I have yet to see a 1/8 e buggy class.....

I get your point, and wonder if these scraglers were to congregate at CRCRC if there could be enough for a class? I'm not second guessing your decision, I think the odds are in your favor for having made the right decision. If placed in your position, I would have made the same decision. I just have high hopes for this class.
I'm a prime example, I don't own one because we don't have a class/track. If CRCRC held a class, I'd have the class/track to compete. I'm amazed at the pasion I have for this class-- I don't own one. I can only imagine what its like for the guys who do have one and can't compete!
I hope this is taken as conversation and I apologize if I've come across as difficult or critical. I do realize it is the racers responsiblity to put up or shut up.
Thanks for being up front with where this is at, it is good to have that understanding.

Big Dog 11-13-2008, 12:00 PM UE, I am taking it as conversation. I have no problem with that, however I do have a problem when people think that they have all the answers and flame someone or club that must try to make the masses happy. Cant keep them all smiling but I will try. Hope to see everyone at the races!!
Big Dog 11-13-2008, 12:01 PM Time is ticking spots filling quick!

I have a great deal of respect for what CRCRC is and has accomplished. Thank you for all the effort and for keeping an open ear-- even if it is less then pleasant some times.

So... the news may starting to appear like a Kyosho-themed press release news domination exercise, but I assure you it's simply timing and coincidence!
You will have read of Ryan Lutz's deparure for Kyosho America, due to join Tamiya early next year, and the man taking his place is Joe Pillars; with respect, not a name so well known to us, we contacted Joe and he was kind enugh to write us back, Click read more...
I would first like to wish former Kyosho Team Manager/Factory Driver Ryan Lutz the best of luck with his new job and direction in racing. It sounds like he received a great offered and he deserves everything he gets. It has been great to work with Ryan here at Kyosho for the past year. He is a great guy on and off the track and any team would be lucky to have him.
Taking over the role of Kyosho America’s Team Manager is a great honor and I am very happy to be chosen for this position. I would also like to say thanks to Joel Johnson for this great opportunity. Kyosho is one of the most successful R/C companies to date with a great name in this industry for high quality products and a history of winning.
Here is a little background on myself:
I moved to California from Michigan at the age of 19 to pursue a career in the R/C industry. I started out working part-time for Xtreme R/C Car Magazine for the first couple months I was out here. I was then offered a full-time job by Rick Hohwart to work for Team Orion and have been here ever since. I started out working in motor production and then was moved more towards the racing side. Since being promoted to Team Manager for Team Orion USA 5 years ago, I made the decision to focus less on my racing and more on the team. It is just too difficult to try and race at the highest level as well as making sure your team has everything they need. This decision was made at the end of my 2003 race season where I full-filled a life-long dream of mine that was to make an A-Main at a World Championship. This was at the IFMAR Electric Off-Road World Championships in Florida. I went on to qualify 7th overall and finished 8th in highly competitive 2wd Modified class.
As Team Manager, I have helped Team Orion win over 20 National Titles, an IFMAR On-Road Electric World Championship, along with countless other races world-wide. I feel with my racing experience, I can help Kyosho keep moving forward with great race results and increasing sales.
The first race on our schedule for 2009 is the Electric and Nitro CRCRC Winter Mid-West Championships.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the races!
Joe Pillars
Kyosho America/Team Orion Team Manager
StingerSkinz 11-19-2008, 05:27 PM Will Mamba systems be allowed for the electric champs?
Big Dog 11-20-2008, 10:45 AM Only if they fit the criteral set forth for the class you wish to enter.
StingerSkinz 11-20-2008, 01:57 PM I'd be running 4wd Mod will they be allowed?
Big Dog 12-01-2008, 09:19 AM We have 2 classes for 4wd
4wd mod
and
4wd 19t or 10.5 brushless
AHORNE 12-12-2008, 10:21 AM hey big dog
can i run the 4wd 10.5 class????
Big Dog 12-15-2008, 03:45 PM Al, you can run every class if you want to. :-)
jacknjillwho 12-16-2008, 07:47 PM Being a new (considering myself a rookie) almost racer (have to be a competition threat to be a racer),I've never been to a big event such as crcrc's january race, however I have entered 2 classes so that someone can come in last place(me). Anyways, I saw the picture of the fairgrounds and am wondering how far away parking is from the buildings? Also if there is an additional fee for parking? If so, how much?
I've only been racing 13 months so maybe I'll be less inquisitive next year!
Big Dog 12-18-2008, 03:36 PM Parking will be around the west(back of the building). There is a parking lot there. Also parking will be under the train bridge.
nitrohead 12-26-2008, 10:53 AM This is where the Ohio State Fair is held so plenty of parking and much of it near the building. You can park close unload, and then park nearby (generally less than 100yds)
Mat214 01-06-2009, 10:25 AM Hey guys. I have a question. Can you pay your entry fee and register at the door? Thanks.
Mat.
Carpet Assasin 01-06-2009, 01:06 PM Are there still spots open? Stock Truck?
