I have a sheet of 1mm clear styrene here and was thinking about making new windows as the kit parts have a bit of distortion in them. What would be the best way to go about it, I wonder?

I used the kit windows as a stencil then a hair drier to warm(don't over heat it) the sheet so I could press it into shape against the nose. Don't try hot water as it can deform it :freak::cry: as I found out on the piece supplied for my Wilco Proteus :o

Great idea, AJ..... how thick was the sheet and who makes it? I have some
"Evergreen" clear sheet Styrene but is only .4mm thick and I think it will
scratch too easly over time. I'm looking for some small sheets of thin glass and will try cutting it...... I hope I don't bleed-out....

I used regular blister pack plastic and cut it to fit using the "spare" window frames (the one you don't need depending on which version you are making) as a guide

the glue alone was enough to keep the window in shape without needing to bend it or melt it in any way

Yeah I use blister packaging as well. As for scratching A coat of floor polish usualy fixes that.

I have had good luck with RC Aircraft canopies... you can find them in different sizes, with different curvatures...
Get the best match and trim accordingly.

Try checking office supply stores for Overhead Projector Acetate Sheets or covers for the 'Dou-A-Tang' (Sp?) report covers. Easy to cut and little distortion.

I believe either 2 liter or 3 liter plastic soda/water/tea bottles will likely have the proper compound curvature. That's what I'm planning to use.

Hell, some of those water bottles out there are like GLASS clear! What an excellent idea! I'll have to try it!
