Has anybody had any trouble with his decals?? Did you have to seal them yourself (he recomends coating them with Future). I sprayed them with Testor's decal bonder (a light coating). Now they don't seem to wanna stick. I tried using decal setting solution but it doesn't help. Did I use too much bonder?? If so, can the decals be saved somehow?

I have used Future on his decals to keep them from ripping and it helped. 2 coats, let each coat dry good before the next.
"helped" !!!
I went from ripping every single decal too ripping 1 outta 3. I was happy.

The last batch I got the white was pretty opaque, I shot a clear coat over them and one of the sheets immediately orange pealed. First time that ever happened to me. I've ordered stuff in all scales and this was the first time they were ever off his usual standard.

Ed,

Just got my decals today and am going to use Future also. Will let everyone know how it works.

My plan is to lay the sheets flat and spray a light coat of Future through my Airbrush onto them & let that dry for 24 hours. Then repeat one more time.

First I will run some warm soapy water through my airbrush to clean out any Acetone from my last spray cleaning. Then spray Future on decal sheets. Will clean my airbrush out with Acetone and then run some warm soapy water through it after that.

When cleaning my paint brush that I use to apply Future on my slot bodies for clear coating. First it gets wiped off and dipped in paint thinner and then wiped off and then a dunk in water and dried off.

Have some Sand Vans to put these decals on...just a few. :freak:

I just brush 2 coats of Future on the decals I intend to use -- really helps reduce ripping, especially on the tiny, thin ones. :)

Unless something changed, I use a coat of Future on the model for leveling the paint and prevent silvering. Then the decal right from the sheet, with more Future over the top of the model and decal afterwards. Letting everything dry before es=ach step. I haen't had problems with ripping. I do know if you spray the sheet first with whatever the decals take extra careful effort to be removed without ripping becaause of the extra sealent that was applied. I had better luck with laquer gloss coat and only used it if any decals cracked with age or ink removal from the source. Never had any problems with Pattos though.

Never had any problems with Pattos. However, like others, I apply a couple coats of clear to keep them intact. Have used Krylon as well as the Testor's Glosscote enamel with good results.:thumbsup: rr

I love his decals, but the HO scale sheets are packed so tightly.
Tough to seperate and cut around sometimes.

I just nixed the whole spray with my Airbrush idea...to much work. I had a foam brush and just put one coat of Future on now and will do another later tonight. Rinsed the sponge brush (about 39 cents) out with soapy water in the sink and it is just like new again.

Plus the Future is water base as the instructions stated...I didn't know that so, If I would have sprayed Acetone in my airbrush to clean out the Future there may have been one BIG STICKY MESS........Aaaaaaaaaaaah.
