Considering opening a hobby store & track in Forked River/Westfield/Woodbridge New Jersey Area. Is there a lot of interest in this area? Which of those areas is the best? It would be likely be mostly 1/10 and 1/12 pan cars and a bullring carpet track. Size would be between 45' x 20 - 75' x 40'. Hopefully the latter. Hobby Shop would stock mostly pan car items, such as 4 cell packs/cells, 13.5/17.5 brushless, spec packs, foam tires, etc.

Thanks!

Forked River would be good for me and I'm pretty sure there's a group of racers in that area looking for a nice carpet track to race on. 75' x 40' would be great.

If you cater to just one area of the hobby, you're gonna get beat. A hobby shop in my area opened up about 7 months ago and catered to 1/8th scale only. They are out of business. Concentrate on what you are talking about, but offer other stuff and you should have a decent run. There arent many hobby shops in the state. If you have a track attached to your shop, run it right, you'll be celebrating your 10th anniversary before you know it.

Woodbridge area would be good for me and there's a bunch of other people in the northern area that would most likely go also.

Right captain11 I see you down there

Good point. I should probably make sure to stock all types of RC in the shop.

I would like to see a track slightly bigger than what was listed. Plenty of guys in Northern Jersey taking long trips weekly to go racing. A larger indoor Oval would be great and plenty of PA guys would be there along with our friends from Delaware and Maryland.

Well, one of the places I'm looking at is 1000 square feet. It'd take a little longer for me to get the startup money, though.

I've decided that there will soon be an online hobby shop, to help raise money for the hobby shop/track. I'd also like to promote nearby tracks, so if you know of a nearby NJ track that is not listed, please let me know.

Just want to let you all know that the track is a definite go. You can expect to see it in about 6 months, near one of the areas I mentioned. Also, an online RC store will open shortly at the URL njrcracing.com - These will be some of the things stocked at the store & track.

Thank you

Any thoughts of expaning your company to have an outdoor off road track someday? I know you havent even built your indoor track but.........................many people race both, and for the ones that dont, are always looking for new places to race. I race at Dirt Runners, but have travelled to Trains & Lanes in Easton Pa, and just raced Friday night at Action Hobby in Langhorne Pa. Just a thought? Outdiir tracks in new Jersey are either in the North, or South. Only one I know of in Central jersey, but its kind of sketchy? They ended their season in the middle of the summer?????
