View Full Version : Spektrum DX3R Radio System abdule 09-27-2008, 01:02 PM If you have one, what do think of it? CClay1282 09-27-2008, 01:08 PM I have one, and i love it. It is efficient on batts. Light. Only three things i dont like about it. No backlight, no steering speed, and i cant set the button above steering wheel to be ch1 subtrim. Other than that, its awesome. Porksalot4L 09-28-2008, 10:41 AM i have one also and i really like it. its really lite and the battery lasts really long. since i got mine about 6 months ago i have changed the battery's 3 times. also no glitching at all with it. deffinatly worth a close look! hobbyten 09-28-2008, 10:52 AM this has already been asked and answered in an earlier thread. CClay1282 09-28-2008, 06:31 PM this has already been asked and answered in an earlier thread. Yeah, but i didnt get to comment on that! Plus, isnt that what keeps these boards alive, someone asking the same questions. Also, if you took the time to post that, why cant you post your opinion? abdule 09-28-2008, 07:06 PM were is the other thread?.........I would like to read some of the other responses......... EMK68 09-28-2008, 07:31 PM Has anyone had any problems with a delay when you first hit the throttle I just got one for my son and it seems to have a 2 second delay before it goes? Also can someone post how they have the throttle travel and exp set for oval racing. I like the radio for the size and weight for my son just a little concerned with the delay and the throttle setting. Thanks Eric Knapp hobbyten 09-28-2008, 07:35 PM go to the top of this thread and click on search type in dx3r and you'll find 3 more threads about the greatest radio on the market hope it helps. Sonny B 09-28-2008, 11:24 PM Has anyone had any problems with a delay when you first hit the throttle I just got one for my son and it seems to have a 2 second delay before it goes? Also can someone post how they have the throttle travel and exp set for oval racing. I like the radio for the size and weight for my son just a little concerned with the delay and the throttle setting. Thanks Eric Knapp Eric I've not heard of any delay issues. Give me a call at work tomorrow and I will try and help you sort it out. My throttle travel is set at 100%.. As for expo on this radio keep in mind it works opposite of most other surface radios. + #‘s will have a softer feel initially and then become more aggressive. - #‘s will do just the opposite. LARCGuy 09-29-2008, 04:10 AM Awesome radio. A beep/tone at the end of the timer would be icing on the cake! EMK68 09-29-2008, 12:06 PM Sonny I will call you Tuesday I'll bring the radio with me so I can understand things better. Thanks a bunch Eric Knapp John Card 09-29-2008, 01:27 PM I have had one for a few months now - no issues at all. It is light and comfortable. I have had no delay issues on mine - it may be your programming or ESC setup. ericsalvas 09-29-2008, 01:53 PM My twin Bros and i been runnin' this DX3r since april...one word...AWESOME light, fast, reliable..... this is by FAR...the best one we've used Eric Salvas abdule 09-29-2008, 05:15 PM is there a way to slow down the steering speed Racin Steve 09-29-2008, 06:26 PM is there a way to slow down the steering speed No. Make sure the "travel" is properly set and you'll be fine. IMHO, slowing down the servo is a macro bandaid on a ill handling car (loose in?) ... You can always use the "exp" to slow down the rate of the steering servo. Steve. Team Horizon abdule 09-29-2008, 08:51 PM what is a good setting for both throttel & servo EXP settings....... CClay1282 09-29-2008, 08:53 PM I use zero throttle exp, but on st exp i use about +30 to +40% abdule 09-29-2008, 08:56 PM "0", I thought the higher the # the faster the response..........LRP wants it set to highest........ CClay1282 09-29-2008, 11:42 PM Well the dx3r is backwards from futaba radios. I always ran - on the 3pk, but on the dx3r i have to run in the + side. EMK68 09-30-2008, 09:41 PM Thanks for the info today Sonny I will let you know how it works out. Eric Knapp:thumbsup: abdule 10-02-2008, 06:16 AM how would you set the throttle EXPO settings for a LRP'08 speedo ? EMK68 10-04-2008, 09:32 PM Sonny Your advice was perfect ran perfect all day. Thanks Eric abdule 10-06-2008, 12:40 PM great radio............... OvalTrucker 10-09-2008, 11:00 PM I've got one on my Christmas list. Maybe Sonny will send me one for Christmas! JasonAB25 10-09-2008, 11:17 PM I love both of mine:) A backlight would be a nice option although it won't be a problem once i go back to indoor racing.
