My photos from the Good-Guys Joliet Weekend. Fantastic Rod & Custom Show at Chicagoland Speedway. Nothing newer than 1972. This is the 2nd run for this show in Chicago. Went all 3 days. On Saturday we got to drive on the NASCAR track, AS FAST AS WE WANTED! I couldn't believe it. I got up to at least 100 MPH a couple of times under full throttle, full boost, just HAULIN'! I pulled an Earnhardt and ran the high line. :p It was sooo cool. A friend with our group snapped his pinion gear and tossed his driveshaft in front of me doing @ 75 MPH but I managed to avoid the carnage. The track officials complimented him on how quickly he went to the apron to avoid oiling down the track. He took a lot of jabs for it but he took it pretty well. Great show. My engine has been together since 1993 and I drove 40 miles on the highway each way both Saturday and Sunday, plus hammering on it on the 18° banks and the car didn't have one hiccup the whole weekend. Not bad for a 15 year old supercharged small block Chevy. ;)

Enjoy the pics. ;)

It's too bad my car is "too new" for that event. It would make a trip to Illinois even more fun. My mom lives in Peotone, about 25-30 miles from the track. I took her on a one day trip on part of the Hot Rod Power Tour last year in Illinois. She had an absolute blast!!! Oh, by the way, she is 87 years old!!!
