As we are drawing closer to the end of the season and start preparing for next season, I would like to get people's input on what they would like to see changed/improved.

Last week a couple of us already discussed a few topics:

Permanent Lighting
New layouts for next year
Improved parking area (grass)
Scoring 'tower'

There might have been a few other topics that we touched upon, but these are the main ones that I remember. Please note that no decision has been made on any of the listed topics, but discussions have been started.

If you have visited MX131 in our first season and would like to share things that you liked and things that you would like to see changed or improved next year, here is your chance. All ideas will be looked at.

I would like to thank you for your input!

Make the track more 10th scale friendly. The rocks are really not very much fun to run on in 10th scale and the back tabletop, while it may be cool for 8th scale, is pretty horrible for 10th scale.

It is going to be tough to please the 1/10 and 1/8 crowd equally!!
It will be almost impossible in fact. I have been trying to do it for 4 years. If you come up with a track layout and surface to make that happen I will pay good money for the secret.
What I have found is the racers will be more tollerent of the layout if it is a trophy or money race.

The rocks need to go no doubt. I get tried of picking them out. One thought to make it more 10th friendly That I had this year was to layout the track so that we could divert the 10th around the really big air sections. Maybe even bypass a section of track for that reason.

If you bypassed the tabletop at the back then the track would be OK for 10th scale... without the rocks of course :)

Rocks were my only complaint. Great track layout, night racing was awsome (I'm a night owl). My brother raced 1/10 and he would be happy with a bypass. Only other picky things.
Couple of electrical outlets by parking
Lots of people taco'ed that tripple
1 free pulled pork sandwich with entry. YUMMY. Your cooperation with racers getting from one track to yours in the same day is much appreciated. See ya

I personally think that the rock situation has improved over the last 2 months, but yes, there are still rocks.
If we do get permanent lighting installed, we will most likely also install power outlets around the track, as least several at the drivers stand.

Scott brings up a good point regarding 'tacoing the tripple' and we will definitaly attempt to prevent that in the new layouts. We have some great ideas in mind for some challenging, but fun layouts that would also make the track 'safer' and 'taco safe'! We will most likely steal some ideas from the The Farm II track from last week's worlds! They had some interesting obstacles that are worth looking into!

Just got back from the Worlds. Man, I've have never seen a race run that Pro, I mean the races stacked with only a few minutes in between, and I love the IFMAR quilifer starts, it's warm up and rolling start. Al Horne does these and they are great. The Farm II is a big track however 1:10 could navigate it also. Think rolling CORR style jumps, and big rollers that the 1:8 can air it out on but the WEAKER 1:10 scales could still get air and land on the down slope.

Due to the fact that it's a fairly big triple and that it's located right next to the straight away, there were occassions that cars that were attempting to jump the triple landed on the straight away. There have been instances that when the car landed on the straight away in perfect timing with a car at full speed on the straight and landed right in front or even on top of the speeding car, causing some major issues, including a 6mm aluminum shock tower broken in half!

I agree with the driving around the 1/8 scale sections. An idea, what if you had electric outlets here and there around the track and charged people 5 bucks a day for power use or something. that would cut down on the generator noise and make it more user freindly. love the track, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the kind words. Maybe if we do put permanent lighting in place, we could run power to the sides of the tracks as well. Worth looking into!

What if we did something like Stateline does, with an "honor box" to drop the "practice" fee into? Also, if the track itself were accessible (maybe a separate access drive, or gate) so people could use it at various times. Just a thought!

What if you swapped the triple and the small table top sections around. Have the small table top or just some wash boards after the high berm and then a triple after the next turn where the small table top and wash boards are now? That would eliminate anyone flying into a high speed car coming down the straight. As far as 10th scale friendly, the triple can be hit as a double without any problems with my 10th scale and maybe the track could be widened at the big table top enough to just cut the front half closest to the drivers stand down a couple feet so it's not such a big table top for the 10th scales. Would eliminate a drive around. Just some thoughts.

Maybe something like this? Would just have to trim the Hightop for 10th scales.

A seperate platform for him to drive from might be more cost efficient.... But we will consider methods of getting him onto the stand as well.

Hey, just wondering what the plans are for this years track? Got a time frame as to when were going to start moving dirt? I'd be happy to come out and run the dozer or tractor if needed. Running at FTR and the warmer weather that is coming has me itching to get the new track started. Was fun racing with ya Edwin. Maybe next time my motor will stay together.

It all depends on the weather. Once thaw sets in, we'll get started on rebuilding the facility for 2009. We've got some plans in mind, but we will not post them until we know we can pull them off for sure. The track layouts we have in mind are SICK and will enable a lot of great racing! Let the weather warm up, so we can finally run outside again!

How about some layouts that would invite the electric guys out and keep them coming there. I know it started as an "everyone" kind of track, but it turned into just an 1/8 scale track. Maybe have a pipe moved for the 1/10 scale to go around an 1/8 scale jump or something. I loved racing my t-max there and would like to run my other 1/10 scale stuff there as well. You guys have an awesome thing going and it can get even better!

I know there has been talk of ways to make it more 1/10 friendly with some by-passes etc.. Have to see what it comes out like. Maybe Edwin could shed some light on that part of it for ya.

We have not decided on adding clay, but I completely agree with reducing the gravel/rocks! We will clean the surface of the track for sure before opening it back up!

The track area will be bigger this year with some elevation changes! We are trying to figure out what the best approach will be for the 1/10th scale classes. They are definitely taken into consideration in the design of the track! We are also working on getting a large electric race to the facility some time this year and build an electric style track for that race!

What about designing a track that has a short course and a long course within itself like the "Farm" does. Then build the jumps to accommodate both scales. Like big quad rollers or whatever. But you still need the "Big Air" for the 1/8th scalers. Bigger the better! Ready to throw the ice fishing poles in the hole and fire up the nitro. Pray for a dry spring! See ya soon. Scott

A beer tent and Hooters girls marshalling. You would have to expand the parking from 5 acres to 50 acres cause you'd have 150+ entries every week! Problem solved. I should get paid as a consultant ya know.

The track schedule seemed difficult to know last year. Whether I didn't care enough to remember it, or it wasn't in concrete I'm not sure. All I remember is driving out and it being closed on a Monday. Try explaining this to me is one thing, trying to explain it to my 5 year old son-- just shoot me! (He's worse then Dave)

NIGHT racing is where its at, same place, same time, week after week.
