Hi guys, got a carb question for ya's.
I've got a $99 throw away mower from wallyworld that was given to me b/c I tinker with small engines as a hobby. But the engines with primers and run off governors kind of throw me..
This engine starts good, runs ok, then richens up and blackens the plug, and starts sputtering but will not stall. If I tilt the mower so the carb doesn't get any fuel it leans out and starts purring nicely until it either runs out of fuel or I sit it back down and it picks up and runs rich again. The governor is all hooked up properly and not been messed with. Only thing I've done is put all fresh fuel and a oil change and plug in it.
Last one I had do this I put an older carb with a real throttle control on it and it is a beautiful runner now. But this one I don't have that option.
Thanks for any help.
: )
P.S. - If you are business owners reading this I am not a guy who goes around fixing stuff for other people for 10 bux or a six pack. I work on my own stuff for fun. It is no fun to work on other peoples stuff so I tell them to take it to a professional.
