Was in there today looking for something else and saw the figure eight set with the mach 5 and the shooting star (racer X's car) for 19.99. The set is put out by hot wheels, but the two cars look pretty good. They look like they're probally life like cars and they weren't sitting too high on the chassis. I'd figure the two cars are worth the 20.00. Just thought I'd let you guys know if you didn't already. I'll probally pick up a set myself just for the cars.

Thanks for that. I'm not too experienced with knowing the manufacturers by sight. I'm guessing they'll run OK then. I think I will be stopping at Toy's R Us on Monday to get myself some Speed Racer action for my new track I plan to start in the next couple of weeks!

On the same topic: Does anyone make any of the other cars from the movie/cartoon? It would be cool to have a Speed Racer race on the four lane with the Mach 5, Shooting Star and a couple of villian cars.

Small sets containing the "original" looking Mach 5 and Racer X are $39.95 here in CMH...the larger set with the (IMHO) goofy looking stylized movie cars are $49.95, no cars sold seperate.

I got these when they came out. For $20 you cant go wrong. I agree on the other mach 5 and shooting star, those dont look a thing like the ones from the old school cartoon, therefore no interest whatsoever.
