wrenchhead 10-15-2008, 10:30 PM we run cot in plattsburg it is 17.5 spec tires spec 1600 battery what r the rules for your cot class
TomHargrave 10-16-2008, 08:45 PM The ROAR Region One director recommended that this be a 2 day event.
what a shame.
Interested in COT rules also.
jmracing 10-17-2008, 12:06 PM will any 19T be allowed to run with the 10.5's
Diane@rctoybox 10-17-2008, 03:03 PM will any 19T be allowed to run with the 10.5's
Yes - 19T/10.5 will run together and 27T/17.5 will run together. If we have enough people to split the classes between brushed and brushless we will.
jmracing 10-17-2008, 03:47 PM does the 19T have to be fixed timing or adjustable?
Diane@rctoybox 10-17-2008, 05:06 PM does the 19T have to be fixed timing or adjustable?
Fixed timing
Diane,
for the 10.5/19t class we should allow ajustable 19t too...cuz i think those motors will be a little bit more closer to 10.5 than a fixed 19t.
Pace
Racer 06082 10-21-2008, 10:28 PM Region 1 has a race director? who? ROAR?
bud3738 10-22-2008, 02:18 PM I dont understand why the norm is 2-day events......I would love to attend but cant stay the entire weekend....hoping to get uop there one day....
fastforward 10-22-2008, 02:54 PM I agree rick.If the tracks would open their doors early only the day of the race say 3-4 hours before the first qual. then everyone gets the same practice time on the track being fair for all. the track having the big event will have people coming a week or 2 before the race to run a club race to dial in paying an entry fee to race rather than sit a whole day before the race paying nothing and running up the power bill.02
TomHargrave 10-22-2008, 03:05 PM man, I love this track, but can't justify 2 days and the entry $
Wish we could make it a 1 day race and scrap the ROAR deal? Make it $25 to enter. I think you would get twice as many racers EASY. I could be wrong, can't speak for everyone, just my opinion.
hey guy if you pre-register you save 15$ so the Roar fee for the week-end!! i think it s not so bad for a nice event!!
2 day race mean that on satuday night we can hang out and take some beer!! lol
Pace
hey guy if you pre-register you save 15$
Pace
If you did it Tommy's way, one could save 100 or more........
PANCAR17R 10-22-2008, 07:34 PM Also think if this was a one day event that it would have a better turn out. Hope to see you there Tommygun. Also if it was all on one day, we wouldnt have to worry about the time in between heats, because we might actually have enough racers to make a full day of it.
Weapon 1 10-22-2008, 08:19 PM This Race Should be a one day Event Plain and simple.....
jmracing 10-23-2008, 11:49 AM may try to go and run sat or sun just to race again.
anyone have any tips for 27t cobalt roll out or 19t fixed motor?
PFixx 10-24-2008, 11:18 PM **** URGENT NOTICE ***** 6:20 PM SATURDAY 10/25

The track opens Sunday at 8 AM. Racing will being promptly at 12 Noon.
We will be open Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM for practice.
Please call in your pre-registration so we can be sure to have enough trophies & door prizes.
Thanks,

-Original 10/24 message follows-
Before running a trophy race and allowing adjustable timing I would want to have tried it during the regular club racing season to see how they compare. Adjustable timing has not been allowed in 19T classes for club season racing so we haven't tested it against 10.5 brushless. This race is not the place to start.
Pace's idea about getting together after the racing Saturday is good. We can bring in pizza to keep the cost down and you guys can bring in the beers of your choice, but only after the racing is done and the store is closed to the public.
You should know that the rest of our oval races through the spring of 2009 are one day events. We plan to put in for the 2009 ROAR Reg 1 Oval Championship and we will negotiate with them to make that a 1 day event.
COT rules are in the next message.
Thanks,
Paul Fixx

omnis85 10-25-2008, 05:06 PM You guys are great to do this for the racers who complained, I just really hope the ones that complained so much to get you to change the race dates actually go to your race now and support it, cant tell you how many times ive seen or herd people chime in on either rules or race days and get it changed and then don't show or run in a class.. there have been plenty of other events in the North East that could have EASILY done in one afternoon that were 2 day events and never herd anyone complain publicly, wait this is hobbytalk im no suppose to have an opinion. anywhoo good luck with your race RCTOYBOX!! awesome track..
PFixx 10-25-2008, 06:26 PM OK everyone, we've changed this to a one day event. Give us a call with your registration and help make us glad we did.

PANCAR17R 10-25-2008, 08:28 PM Yeah, we all rallied to make this a one day event so that we could get more people so hopefully you all will step up and come to this event. This is one of the best places in New England to race. Also if you sign up early you can get the roar membership paid for you.
cwalsh 10-26-2008, 06:42 AM I will be there, maybe some of the NY gang will now be able to make it. Lets make the 10.5 field stacked with talent and we will see some great racing that this track always allows.
Racin'Jason 8 10-26-2008, 11:51 AM That's awesome that you guys reacted to the masses in a positive way...now could you just make it Saturday? lol. I'm going to try and make it, Sundays aren't good for me but the NY guys that have been there rave about it.
PANCAR17R 10-26-2008, 01:24 PM ..now could you just make it Saturday? lol.
Saturdays going to be left open for a practice day for anyone who wants to come a day early, but also will be opening early Sunday to practice.

Saturday would be a much better day for a one day race due to the time that the races get over and the hours of driving people have to do to get home.
Getting home a 3 AM and having to go to work the same day is not a good mixture. Just my .02
Diane@rctoybox 10-27-2008, 02:48 PM Thanks for the input. We will keep that in mind for next time.
Diane
the race will start at noon sharp!!! so the race should finish around 5-6h...so if you have a 4-5 hours trip you should be home around 10-11h!! not so bad for a big race!!
come on boy!!! stop trying to change everything...toybox have doing there best by making it as a 1 day event!! if they have make the race on saturday some other racers will have say we don t have enought pratice for a big event!! now it s time for you to come to RCTOYBOX and try to be the 2008 ROAR One Oval Carpet Champs in your class!!!!!

PFixx 10-27-2008, 11:15 PM We had a bunch of calls Sunday and Monday with registrations for the race. We've got people confirmed from VT, NH, ME and CT.
There are definite registrations for Pro Pan 10.5BL, Sportsman 27, SK Mod 17.5BL & COT classes. We've got several people ready to run Stadium Truck if we get a few more.
Give us a call and get your registration in. As long as we get the registration and your payment by Thursday we'll pay your $15 ROAR event membership out of the $40 fee. After Thursday it will be an additional $15. Additional cars are just $10 each.
We'll see you all on Sunday.
