hi all hope you can halp. This is a Kohler 15.5 Engine
engine runs some time and some time not the engine pops & back firers , I took head off cleaned all carbon, checked valve clearence ( in specks)I'm at the end of my wits with this problem. Carb was taken apart last year and was clean, float was at correct height and idel & mixture settings are per the book.

You have a sheared flywheel key. If it is still under warranty they have a new style flywheel. If not just keep replacing keys.

no flywheel key is ok??

Possible bad ignition module.
