What do you guys use to rid your track of weeds? We have a fairly new track but weeds are moving in.

Home Depot has a product called ground kill (or something close to that). Sounds "harsh" but it works well! Roundup works too but no as well/long.

Run on it!! And I spray mine every two weeks with round up. The best thing is to use it alot. Don't let em take you over.

Unfortunatly we are too new not enough interest yet. I am lucky if 2 of us use it a week.

i know it sounds kind of goofy but gasoline is the cheepest weed killer ive found a gallon of gas is 4 bucks a gallon of actual week killer ive seen as high as 15 bucks

This is expensive, Pramitol, but it works great. We used it on a private track and it kept the weeds out all season. Pramitol (http://www.pestproducts.net/pramitol.htm)

Yes, it does. The chemistry of most herbicides is such that they break down in time where diesel fuel will just hang around and leach out of the soil and into ground water - not good. If you knowingly used gasoline or diesel as a weedkiller around here, the DEP would be paying you a visit.

Best thing is to use a systemic like roundup (roundup pro if you can get it). Roundup has no effect on soil that I'm aware of, but you must apply it when it will dry on the plant, preferably on dry, windless, sunny days. Applying a pre-emergent weedkiller twice a year in the early spring and early fall(now) will make a big impact as well.

Find someone with an old gallon of Nitro fuel. I use nitro fuel on my driveway in the cracks where the weeds and grass grows. I have a few old quarts that I dump in the cracks now and then, weeds are gone in less than a week. :thumbsup:
