I was wondering if anyone has seen or used a "Clicker" differential. From my understanding, it locks the diff up through a spring loaded pin, once it engages. I remember seeing the diff displayed either on a website, or in a magazine somewhere, but the problem with growing old, is that I can't remember where I saw it! Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dale

The Losi XX4 had a clicker but it wasn't in the diff. It operated off of the opposite end of the shaft where the spur gear mounted. It was an approach to try to get the effect of a oneway but allow adjustment through a nut on the shaft that you could tighten or loosen to adjust the spring pressure and this changed how the front diff action worked.

Thanks for the info. The picture of the one I saw looked like a diff from a TC3/4. It had the spider gears, and the pin that went through them, had a spring on it.
The main reason I am inquiring about this, is that a fellow showed me his EDM, and the stealth tranny had one in it.
Thanks,
Dale

I haven't worked on a XX 4 in a long time and forget just how the clicker was designed. I will see if I can find any thing else to remind me.

Losi Website still has XX 4 (best 4 wheel drive ever built IMO) instructions and exploded view.
The clicker had a nut on top of the following washer, spring, flat washer with spyder like gears on one side, a pulley with gears that locked into the previous washer, another washer and that assembly all went on the end of the shaft opposite the end with the spur gear.
I remember so pro drivers would take out the clicker and run without it.
I don't think this sounds like the parts you are seeing, so it may be something special built. The one on the Losi worked quite well and so this probably will as well.
