I have a old murry someone gave me. Doesn't seem too bad. I've been able to get it started but it only runs at high rpms. It won't throttle down and when under load it dies. Any help or advise is appreciated, thanks Bill.

Take a look in the carburetor float bowl. Could have dirt, water, varnish or a combination. Clean out the passages and jets with spray carburetor cleaner and see if that helps.
