A co-worker asked me if I knew anything about a new track opening up in the Pittsburgh Mills area. He said that J&C Hobbies is building an indoor carpet track in their Pittsburgh Mills store.

Anyone know anything about this? I looked them up on the web and they do have a site but nothing was mentioned on there. They also listed a telephone number for the Mills store but I was too lazy to call. Besides, it's always a lot more fun to start a thread on HobbyTalk and read everyone's responses.

A track at the Mills may be close enough for this old guy to come out of retirement - at least one week per month.

It does appear that there will be a new track in the Pgh area. They started a thread on rctech and I suggested to them about starting a thread here also. They are still working out the details but below is their site and they hope to open in October. It would be nice to race with you again Kevin. This Lipo/Brushless thing seems like it is going to be very fun.

I got a sneak peek at the track last evening and I must say it is going to be a first class facility. The pictures on their site do not do it justice. Bob

1/10 Carpet off-road! Really!?! I've pined for that since like 1992! I considered getting back into the hobby a few years back after at least a decade away from it, but the options - dirt off-road or touring cars on carpet - didn't interest me enough. This is great news.

Thanks to Bob and jpsmith for the updates. I guess I'll keep watching their website and this thread to find out what's going on.

Looks good Jim. I have been spreading the word about the track. Can't wait to try it out. Where are all those semi retired Pgh oval racers???? Jim, If I can do anything to help please don't hesitate to ask.

Track opening tomorrow I think. First race coming soon.

The track is now open. Oval Test N Tune this Saturday starting at 3:00. Full race schedule and classes should be released soon. Stop out Saturday afternoon and run some laps.
