View Full Version : Battle Beyond the Stars
IndyRC_Racer 09-09-2008, 04:53 PM I was wondering how many of you actually saw this movie in the theatres? I was maybe 11 or 12 when it came out and remember going to watch it with my dad. Even then I wasn't very impressed. Still the movie did have an interesting mix of spaceships.
Nova Designs 09-09-2008, 08:32 PM There were spaceships in that movie???

Roguepink 09-09-2008, 09:46 PM Was it about boobies?
scotpens 09-09-2008, 10:02 PM Battle Beyond the Stars is actually fairly entertaining. I mean, how can you go wrong with Richard "John-Boy Walton" Thomas, together with Robert Vaughn and George Peppard slumming for a paycheck, in a modestly budgeted space-opera riff on Seven Samurai/The Magnificent Seven?
And Sybil Danning, of course, displaying her dramatic assets.
Trek Ace 09-10-2008, 01:03 AM It was The Magnificent Seven in space.
Not too bad a romp for $2 million.

I saw it as it came out during a period when I went to the movies every week no matter what was showing.
Remember it for an early James Horner score.
I saw it on network TV a number of years back and the woman was blurred out.

Tell her I loved her in Hunter, and I was sorry to see her get blown away!
Old_McDonald 09-10-2008, 10:15 AM I remember seeing this movie too. The girls in the row in front of me kept giggling each time JohnBoy's ship was shown. Wonder if it had something to do with the way the front of the ship looked?

Carson Dyle 09-10-2008, 02:56 PM Yeah, just don't stick a condom on the X-Wing.
scotpens 09-10-2008, 04:52 PM Yeah, just don't stick a condom on the X-Wing.So I'm not the only one who thinks the X-wing looks like a square male organ with wings! And all this time I thought I was a dirty-minded pervert or something.

What ship were you looking at? It certainly wasn't a flying nutsack! LOL It WAS the best combination of breasts/uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries I've ever seen incorporated into a spacecraft.

Am not.

I agree, that was the good ship D-cups!:woohoo:
Iirc, a young and unknown SFX technician named James Cameron was supposed to be the jokester responsible for that bra-on-the-spaceship photo.

More to the point, Cameron pretty much designed and built the ship. Supposedly, he still has it in storage somewhere......

Very rare to see pics of that ship - speaking for myself anyways, I haven't been able to scare up anything more than screencaps.
Do you have any others, without the "support"?
Or anything of Robert Vaughn's hammerhead ship?
GKvfx 09-10-2008, 07:14 PM Am not.
PS - Are too.
jage1966 09-10-2008, 10:23 PM It's pretty obvious on the movie poster:
