We need to have only a couple of classes this year so there will be more racers per class. This does not mean that these will be the only classes to run, but should help with everyone knowing what could be the more popular classes. I feel that there are too many classes and sometimes there are only a couple of people that show up for a specific class that might not have enough for a heat! Lets all try and figure out what the preference is for on-road and oval. Please respond with your thoughts and classes.

Mine would be:

on-road --- 1/12 17.5 brushless
PRO 10 GT 13.5 brushless 4-cell

oval -- 10.5 brushless

I here that 21.5 brushless with lipo is just about equivalent to 10.5 brushless with 4 cell nimh!

I think it depends on the track... We tried it in Columbus one night after racing...3200 orion lipo and 21.5... It was running faster than 13.5 times but not quite 10.5 times... ***HOWEVER it seemed like where it was lacking was out of the hole if we geared down to get the car out of the corner it lacked in the straights**. On a bigger track like tri state where you can run the car out they might be comparable... We ran the house for gearing and never could get 3.2 sec laps or better with 21.5 lipo..While the car was not perfect it still seemed like a step off in performance.. Somewhere between...

The 17.5 lipo with 3200 orion we seemed to get just slightly faster than 10.5 4 cell... It seemed to have more of the FEEL of 10.5 than the 21.5 did.***BUT again the 10.5 4 cell was kind of the limit for that track...Anything faster the bumps and tight corners kind of made anything faster almost useless So that test wwas somewhat skewed as well.... Im far from a lipo expert...We did it just trying to figure out what classes we were going to run..

We also ran a 3.5 with an SMC 5000 pack at freddies in one of daryls beater cars... LMFAO... Most fun Ive ever had trying to drive an RC car..

Im fine running 10.5 4 cell if thats the class you guys want to run... Ive got all that stuff already... Im with you...Id rather have a bunch of people in 1 class than 3 people in each of 17 classes..

I believe 13.5 NIMH and 21.5 LIPO are similar as are 17.5 lipo and 10.5 NIMH. Not perfect..but similar.

Hi Kenwood,
I'm going to come down some this fall and winter and I vote for 10.5 4 cell and 13.5 cell car or truck. The truck class was pretty popular at the pit. That's my 2 cents:thumbsup:

17.5 lipo and 10.5 4 cell should run together as one class.

That is great to Hear Gabby!

I want to let anyone reading this know that next week I will start my "RC School". I would like to spend an hour from 10 to 11am each Saturday I am racing. I will cover how to build, set up, and maintain your oval car! I think that this will help everyone out greatly and make the racing more enjoyable too. The topics will be up to whom ever has a question. The main reason why I am starting this early is so everyone can have a chance to pratice what they have learned.

Let me know what everyone thinks and I will see you Sat!

Yes, I see no reason right now to separate them. That was with a Novak motor.
