I just got a E-Revo and want to change it to brushless. Any one know a good ESC, Motor and Batt. Combo?

castle creations makes good esc and motor i hear and good lipo would be 1 from losi like the 5000s

I just put a Novak HV Pro 6.5 in my E-Revo and could not be happier with the performance. Stock Spur with a 13t pinion (a tad small, but i didnt know where to start) the motor temp is only at 105-110 and the esc around 90-95 on a 60* day running on dirt/low grass. I am running (2) 7.4v 3200 Lipo's and get 15mins of solid runtime. Only issue i have seen so far is using the novak 5mm pinion. It is to long! The only way to make it work is space the motor from the mount about 5mm. I have Robinson pinions on the way to take care of that!

Are you running the batteries in parallel or series?

I'm trying to decide on a motor/esc combo for my electric 8ight project. The tech guy at Novak has been very helpful talking about options. What he thinks is the safest bet is what you have, running on a 4S battery, which would be comparable (I guess) to two 2S's in series.

On the other hand, when you get the RTR brushless setup straight from Traxxas, the Mamba Monster is the esc they put in there. It looks to me like the motor is a joint venture between NEU and Castle.

well i have a REVO with the Gorilla Maxx chassis and LOVE IT! I have so much money in this truck its not funny! I run a Castle Creations Mamba Monster Max V3 controller with a Neu 1515/1y/f! Great combo on 4s and even better (for fun NOT racing) on 6s! I run a direct drive center diff which should be released soon! I also run Hybrid diffs front and rear (1/8th truggy diffs) because i was blowing the others out left and right! The stock axles went and replaced them with Tsias dog bonz! To bad they discontinued thoes cause they are way better than MIP and the traxxas ones are even worse than the stock plastic ones cause i have tried emm all! Like i said i love this truck! The mod list goes on and on! I usually gear her for around 35mph but have had her clocked by the University Police at over 60 with the right gearing on a dead 4s pack! when i throw the 6s in and gear her up i hope for around 100mph for the fastest rc MT!

Back to the motor question. I like the combo i have but might also try the tekin out cause it looks nice! I just love Neu so much i dont want to go away from them! And to clear up all the confusion of weather castle motors are really neu motors. THEY ARE NOT!!! they are however the same design. they are made in china and not balanced to the same specs. They are good motors but not quite NEU level.
