Fulton's R/C Raceway 2008-2009 race season.

Jim and Edna will be opening the doors to the track for another exciting season at the bullring on Saturday, October 4th. They will be closed the following week, October 11th, for their annual pilgrimage to Charlotte Motor Speedway. The following week, October 18th, the track will reopen for the season.

The prices for racing continue to be the lowest around at $4 for one class, $7 for two classes, and $10 for three or more classes. We will be using the Robitronic counting system and transponders this season. Personal transponders are available for purchase at Fulton's Hobby Shop and will also be available for purchase or on a rent-to-own basis of 5$ per week at the track.

The main classes ran this year will be:
Losi Sliders
Losi Mini Late Models
1/10th Stadium trucks
1/10th Spec Nastruck
1/10th Spec brushless
1/10th Pan stock
1/12th Stock
Breakouts
PVC Bombers
1/18th Open
1/18th Rally
1/18th Monster trucks
Legends
Beginners

And as always if you have 3 or more cars we can make a class for you.

If you have any questions regarding rules or the track in general feel free to ask here, pm me, or call Jim at the hobby shop at 1-304-233-5355.

I forgot to mention that the track will be open on Wednesday nights for practice also. We will also have a weekly newsletter available at the track each week. We are also working with Jim on several special races throughout the season. I will post the details of each of the races on here soon and in the newsletter.

As of right now they will be completely stock. We are looking into a possible low cost replacement for the batteries and motors. We will vote on this after the first couple of weeks of racing. When I know any more I'll let you know.

09-18-2008, 01:28 PM
Hi Keith,
the easiest way for you to get there would be I-470. You will want to take the 27th st. / Wheeling exit. Once off the exit take 27th st. to Chapline st. Head south (left) on chapline st. (for about 3/4 mile) till you get to 38th. st. Turn left onto 38th st. for 1 block. The track is located in a 3 story brick building on the corners of 38th and Eoff streets. Hope to see you this season. Make sure to introduce yourself, their are some great people at Fulton's.

js rocket 13 is your rc late model faster ?????

Only for now waiting to hear from a local engine builder on the rules for that KOMS bull think I'm building a cheater motor if it possable those PBM deals are a little loose on there rules, the 602 version make 20hp more than GM's 604 so I'm building a 604 PBM hoping it gonna be 50 over there 602. Plus if everything goes right I should be starting a new job in Oct which will cut alot of time outta my racing but I can retire in 20 to 25 years.

I've still got my 4300 Travis. I think Jimmy has a 10.5 in his. I left the back of the body in the brushless cars like you and Jack did this year. I also just finished a new MC for Jack.

Ok, I have a couple of questions and observations after running the oval for the first time in 10+ years. 1st off, 27t and 6/c is WAY TOO MUCH for PVC Bomber class...the old silver can 540 and 4/c will replace it before Saturday...slower is faster  The Late Model set up is pretty good right out of the box, just a little tweeking and it should be perfect(need to keep the inside rear on the carpet to keep the diff from unloading in the turns)..MAGIC you're right about Dale's LM, we may want to institute a claim rule, his car is much faster down the straights than everyone else ;)
Finally, how do I calculate rollout and what should it be for NASTRUCK? Jack said something to me before he left about running a 100t spur and 2.16 r/o but I'm not sure how to calculate it. I used to have a program when I raced TC that calculated it for me but it is long gone.....

Hey Ross, I think I may play with a 5 cell for bombers. I plan on running the first heat with 5 cells and the second with 6. Hopefully once the track gets some compound in it we will get more traction.

Ross, I am going to stay with a 27t for now. I'll probably bring a silver can with me in case. I'd be willing to bet your slower is faster idea is right, but I've got way too much to do this week to have the time to change it. Bill, Paul and myself plan on running 1/18th breakout. I don't know if I am going to run open yet. Too many other classes to sort out yet.
