Okay, I know this topic has been beaten to death, and they've made some changes.. but...

I just picked up the Convertible Custom Olds 442 from MCG 7, and noticed it had similar wheels to the Custom 442 from MCG 6... SIMILAR... the ones on the hardtop were great, perfectly proportioned.. the convertible has the rims which I believe are the skinny fronts from the SPEED drag cars?? they look awful, and they dont fit very well under the body... they put the little plastic spacers to fix the problem, but why didn't they just use the same wheels from the other custom 442?? the size and the fit was perfect!!

ALSO, why do they keep putting dog dish rims on the GTX's, and the magnums on the RoadRunners?? Shouldn't it be the other way around?? The custom rims on the '70 charger are also too big for the casting... they need to put more dogdish and plain steelies on these MOPARS!!! (I hope we see a sixpack dodge soon...)

I wish GL would just start selling a custom wheel pack... I swear I'd pay $10-20 bucks just to be able to put the rims I want to on these cars... or if they'd do a custom 'screw together' car like the old Johnny lightning customizing kits...

One can only wonder who makes wheel choices & why in the model business , but I think for some reason far too many Mopars get the dog dish or steel rim treatment . When the cars were plentiful in the '70's , I dont remember any of them having those wheels , exept base model sedans , or old clunker / beater cars ... I dont recall any cars with redline tires either ... Maybe they werent popular in my area ....

If there was one thing I would beg them to change, it's the wheel/tire issue. IMHO, it looks like they are using 1/50 scale wheels/tires on 1/64 scale cars. Reminds me of the early JL moster truck tire period!

I think Mac has a quest to correct stance and wheel iisues on all the castings as newer releases are done.

Tamiyatim : If you want dog dish wheels , I have a bunch of Cudas & GTX's with them , that I used for tire swaps ... Another member here was going to buy them , but then backed out ...

I bought 2 black bandits today and one had a wheel whose rubber was partially off. This has happened numerous times on various GL's

Correct. New tires have been made.
