jefferson 09-04-2008, 05:01 PM No, I don't keep anymore stuff in duffel bags anymore. This was before I realized what I was doing or how much some of this stuff could be worth at some other time. I assure you, any and all new aquisitions are either left in the package or are meticulously cared for in either a plastic case or a foam- lined box. I wonder if anyone would be interested in restoring some of these?
PWSchuh 09-04-2008, 05:23 PM Even taking into account that they were in a duffle bag, a lot of those look like the paint was scraped off on purpose.
jefferson 09-04-2008, 05:35 PM actually, the first couple were indeed "scaped" clean back in mid the late '80's when I was tinkering with the thought of repainting.... never happened.
McRooster 09-06-2008, 09:00 PM Even taking into account that they were in a duffle bag, a lot of those look like the paint was scraped off on purpose.I Agree.
JasonZ 09-06-2008, 09:41 PM That black testerossa ferrari is nice! I also have the same batmobile!~
BluntFronts 09-07-2008, 09:36 PM Aha - saving the best for last. I really like that Chrysler Laser. An underappreciated car, I always thought. Kinda like the one DD McCall drove on Hunter.
I wasn't collecting MBs during those years, so I missed it.
jefferson 09-07-2008, 11:35 PM mmmmmm, DD McCall.... oh the memories.
FLOYDFROG 09-11-2008, 01:49 AM Who made the tiny Cobra 427 S/C??
jefferson 09-14-2008, 03:52 AM Hot Wheels made it.... in fact, the red '65 Mustang and the orange VW baja are also from the same series from like 12 years ago I think... I've got it some where but it'll never ever part company... a blue and yellow blown '67 or '69 Camaro. I'll have to locate that one and pass it along. Check out South Texas Diecast if you got a minute, the guy has listings of just about everything ever produced with photos for most.
JeepXJLover 09-14-2008, 09:02 PM Love the Oldsmobile Aerotech I saw one in Indy in '93, along with the Pontiac Banshee both were awesome concept cars in their day.
The Matchbox Nissan in racing livery reminds of the The Greater Des Moines Ruan Grand Prix they used to have in Des Moines in the early 90s. The would block off the downtown streets and race through them with Nissans, Toyotas etc, GM cars as well, Chevy Berettas, Olds Ciera, in 94 or 95 I believe was the last one, the Dodge/Plymouth Neon made their appearance and the local news crews put some of their anchors behind the wheel of those to race in the Grand Prix.
JasonZ 09-19-2008, 06:26 PM OMG I have that corvette with the lifted/open hood! Isnt it supposed to be green?
jefferson 09-21-2008, 07:36 AM the silver one was the first one to hit stores back in the '80's and I have a red one too. there have been a lot of re-paints of this car over the years but i only have a few.
terry9911 09-21-2008, 04:15 PM Who's duffle bag(s) are these? If not yours, was this duffle bag found in someone's garbage?
I worked in a scrap yard for 14 yrs. and use to find duffle bags full of old tools or money under car seats of scrap cars but never did I ever find a diecast car or collection.
