These five 1/64 scale models from Jada's Big Time Muscle 5-Deep 1959 Volkswagen Beetle collection proved irresistible at Wallymart on closeout.
The set is a good cross section of various interpretations of a classic. They are especially significant to me because they are close enough representations of a very clean and nicely preserved stock 1962 Beetle that sits in my carport awaiting restoration. The cream-colored VW was bought new by my late father. The sticker price was $1665 which included trucking from either the port of entry in New Orleans or from the distributor in Saint Louis for $40 and the leathette interior for $30!
