I had a heck of a time with my 4-cell car Sat nite thought I had a radio interferance problem but as I was checking it out tonight I found that one of the wires is cut/broken right where it enters the case.
Is it possible to take the case apart and repair the wire? I,ve never had a steering servo apart but solder wire and make wiring repairs all the time at work ( GM auto tech ) does Futaba have a repair service? I hate to throw this servo away its an almost new Futaba S9650.....Ideas???

I have replaced and or shortened servo leads myself. Takes a good solder iron and steady hands. Our LHS has servo leads in stock, but I always keeps at least one in mt pit box. Takes less than 5 min. to replace. Just don't use a lot of heat on the board.

I've also replaced the leads in my servos before. It's very easy.
If you have an old servo laying around, take the back cover off of it,take a look at the leads & give it a try.

I just clip the wire at the damaged point and crimp on a new servo plug. If the servo wire is too short to make the RX I'll use a 3" or 6" extentsion.
I do it this way since there is little chance of damaging the servo.
I bought my plugs in bulk from ebay, and the crimpers from radioshack for $10. But this webstite has every needed.
