I have an idea for Greenlight and I would like feedback, especially from Mac. With the high intrest in dioramas it would seem like a good idea to make full 1/64 scaled models of buildings related to our hobby. Possibilities might be a 60's era drive-in, drag strip, or gas station. Even better car dealerships like Grand Spalding Dodge, Yenko Chevrolet, Royal Pontiac, Tasca Ford, Shelby conversions or any of the other super car builders. Each model could come with a car with paint job limited to the set. 1/64 accessory sets could also be sold. Even, of all things, PEOPLE.
Why should our hobby have to buy, beg, borrow, and steal from the train set hobbiests. None of those scales are exactly 1/64 anyway. Greenlight has proven that scale matters to our hobby more than the industry realized in the past. Now give us products to display our "toys" with.

GreenLight is way ahead of you on this one. A couple of months back, they had a poll in the UTH Club asking which/what diorama parts/sets/people we wanted to see. Although there have not been any formal announcements (I figure that production lead times are at least 8 months from concept to production), you can bet that there something is in the works. Right now, I'm happy with the MCG Hobby collection diorama bits but would welcome ANYTHING in the realm of diorama bits from GreenLight. Again, GreenLight listens to us, the collectors. :thumbsup:

It would be great to see detailed 1/64th diorama pieces. I really like the garage tools, but I wish GL sold them seperate from the cars.

Yes I do have the results from the poll, but unfortunately it is in the "Club Only" section. ;)

I can tell you what was voted the highest though, with 38% of the vote it was "Gas station or car dealership (complete plastic building) "

I hope they do complete buildings like HO scale products and not sort-of ones like MotorMax.
