Hi Everyone,

bought this one at the flea market this morning. Maisto 1/33 scale Smart. It comes in a black promotional box and it says that Maisto is an exclusive manufacturer for Smart with pull back. This model I was told was purchased in Rome, Italy. Not sure if Maisto sells the Smart here in the U.S. and if in this color black and silver. (Has a price sticker of 6 Euros)

I like it. I've brought back a few Siku 1:64-ish Smart models from my last business trip to Germany.

hmm.. never heard of exclusive for "pull back" only..

cuz they are selling three different scales of the the Smart car at the Smart Car dealers (didn't see the brand)

..and Matchbox just came out with the Smart Cabrio as a new model, 1/64th

Here it is - same car in blue. (Was just looking through old threads and found this.) I picked this up a long time ago here in Canada, before I started collecting. I didn't even realize it was a pull-back until recently.

Not to digress from original subject I too have seen the MB version at TRU. It's pretty cool, I almost bought one!

The first Matchbox Smart was released in 2002. There have been ten +/- total. The Maisto is a nice model.

Definitely more than ten. The mb-db.co.uk database shows ten, but is missing the Around the World version, and I recently saw a pic of another version from a multi-pack.

But only the last four versions (green NSF, yellow multi-pack, red, green) show the headlight/grill/license plate detail.

Go to youtube, search videos for "hayabusa smart car" that's the one I want. Someone that knows how should post a link. Incredible!
