I bought these on saturday from a local antique dealer for $35, a very sweet deal for a very good c1950 Dinky Lagonda and a fine Corgi Lotus 11 le Mans missing only its glazing. The Lagonda was on my top 3 most wanted list as when I was a child age 3 or 4 or 5, I destroyed or lost 3 cars, one of these Lagondas, a c1950 green Dinky Chrysler and a red Spot On VW Beetle -so naturally this trio are the most desirable toys that i dont yet own, now just 2 left on my list, what a wonderful weekend :)

Those are great. I love old Corgi's and Dinky's. Keep the pictures coming.

Here is an "old" Corgi Whizzwheel - one of my favorites:

I never really liked these "new' style wheels; the original superfast-type wheels looked more realistic to me:

Or let's get even older, and here is one of the last non-Whizzwheel Corgis - another favorite!

Wonderful Corgis Karl S:thumbsup:
I remember choosing the same golden jacks Rover 2000TC when I was 6 or 7 on a visit to my grandmother on the east coast, and the box was so beautifully drawn that I kept it,and still have it today, a bit worn but the founder member of my box collection.I like those īred spotī wheels, a brave attempt to keep rubber tyres and at the same time make cars fast enough for use on tracksets.I also bought the Mercedes C111 at the same shop 5 or 6 years later, and still treasure it mint in its tidy box. But the Pontiac is one I found this millenium in my hobby collecting years....
This resprayed Dinky Lincoln Zephyr is my 3rd diecast, given to me when I was 3 years old and still going strong. My first ever repaint too, when I was 5 or 6 it became dark blue over the original green gray shade. This respray dates from 1979 or 1980 and was one of the very earliest I did.

Can anyone ID these famous US cars of the late 1930s made by Dinky? Both still original from my fatherīs childhood and in the same shade that the Lincoln Zephyr was made in

The one on the right looks like a Studebaker maybe, or a 39 ford?

Studebaker is correct. Dinky challenged Tootsie toys in the US in the late 1930s with these cars. After the war Dinky continued making these and Tootsie Toys simplified the quality of their product
Spot the 1935-36 made Tootsie toy in this pic-its the one that looks like a Dinky toy, and this is the formula that Dinky copied and perhaps if Tootsie had continued in this high end of the market they would have dominated US toysales in the 1946-1970 period preventing Dinky and Corgi from making the big profits they earned from the US market (absorbed about 1/3 of their total output)

My pictures are a little newer - but I enjoyed those oldies. Except for that Falck tow truck (he needs some help himself). You can get a replacement tow hook somewhere right? I do love those "new" Dinky Falck fire trucks from the 1970s! :woohoo:

All my photos on this thread were taken between July and September this year - the group with the Falck truck were one weekendīs flea market finds in July.
Here are some more Falck fire trucks which I sold on ebay earlier this year
