Is anyone here familiar with the cars Kyosho produced for Dydo coffee promotion? How do these compare to the other Kyosho cars as far as detail and quality?

How do these compare to the other Kyosho cars as far as detail and quality? CarC 08-29-2008, 12:44 PM Dydo and Kyosho Ferraris ( series 1 and 2 ) have identical castings. I'm not sure about the other makes ( Toyota, Subaru, Honda, etc. ) I only have one car from the blue package Dydo - Toyota s800, I think they also have identical detail. G_G 08-29-2008, 12:54 PM Dydo and Kyosho Ferraris ( series 1 and 2 ) have identical castings. I'm not sure about the other makes ( Toyota, Subaru, Honda, etc. ) I only have one car from the blue package Dydo - Toyota s800, I think they also have identical detail. On the Ferrari, is the detail level the same between Kyosho Minicar and Dydo releases? Superbird77 08-29-2008, 01:37 PM Here is a list of DyDo cars: http://www.hongwell.netfirms.com/html/dydo_mini_car.html (there are also other series in the left menu, Ferrari for example) Ferrari series are very similar (if not the same) as early Kyoshos, that means they are not so well detailed as the later Kyoshos. I especially don't like the wheels and axles on these cars. I think that Kyosho made a huge step forward with Ferrari series III. rioredgt 08-29-2008, 06:19 PM I think the wheels are more detailed on the later releases, Dydo series cars being released earlier. I have actually scored some Kyoshos for a fairly reasonable price, just to do wheel swaps on my Dydo versions. Thankfully, all kyosho Ferraris have screws and not rivets. One other note, I bought a Dydo model about a year ago, and one of the tires was installed backwards on the axel. Also, the hubs(wheels) can be a pain to install on the tire. Robert CarC 08-29-2008, 08:02 PM The level of detail is the same for Dydo Ferrari and Kyosho Ferrari on the first 2 releases. I interchanged the plastic bases on some of my non-red Kyoshos with their Dydo counterparts and they fit perfectly. I was really happy that they changed the wheels and axles that started on the 3rd release. Please also note that there are cars from the Dydo series which were not released in the Kyosho: 250 Gt Lusso, 166mm, 250 swb, 330 p4 spider. G_G 08-29-2008, 09:33 PM Please also note that there are cars from the Dydo series which were not released in the Kyosho: 250 Gt Lusso, 166mm, 250 swb, 330 p4 spider. These are actually the models I'm looking looking for. Do you recommend the Dydo release of these cars, or is the detail level and wheels completely ruin the castings? rioredgt 08-30-2008, 12:03 AM Here are some up close pics of Dydo models. Robert Lusso http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r12/rioredgt/100_9420.jpg 250LM http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r12/rioredgt/100_9421.jpg 330 P4 Now this is not the Spider version. This one is from the Ferrari IV series. My understanding is that the spider version was "chance" (bonus) car. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r12/rioredgt/100_9419.jpg CarC 08-30-2008, 12:16 PM Absolutely. Even if Kyosho releases those models in the future, they won't be the same as the "original" ones. Here's the other 3 cars; 250 SWB. Lusso, and 166MM http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e289/909car/vacation148.jpg Here's the p4 spider which is a chase car extremely hard to find and quite pricey since the car comes with a plastic display case for the other 21 Dydo Ferrari road cars. http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e289/909car/CADriverlic006.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e289/909car/display-1.jpg Happy hunting!
