I got a call a few nights ago about the QSAC wheel width rules and I didn't have a very good answer for the gentlemen that called. Brent helped straighten me out. So for those interested, a 3.00 inch maximum wheel width refers to the width of the rim at the bead just like a full size car rim...not outside to outside of the rim. The rule even says "at the bead". BRP's standard wheels used on the stockcars and sprint rears are 2.92" wide at the bead so the rims DO NOT have to be cut down to be 3" wide (they are 3.1" outside to outside). This may or may not help out the gentlemen that called as his question was about a 3" rule on the front of the QSAC West Supermodifieds? What is the front tire rule on that class anyway?

The three inch wheel is legal on the front in the super modifieds , or so I have heard Tom Hughes say several times , that is one of the difference's from the super mod to a sprint car 2 3/4 ", At our club races we have a few guys running a 3" wheel on the front of there sprint car's , they run very well with the wider tire on the front . I run the WCM sprint car front tire & wheel's
on my WCM sprint car ,,,,,Robert :)

The KEY word in this question is QSAC (west). The west has often opted to run a different set of rules for their local races. The rules for tire width in the super modified class are not specificly stated but have always been assumed to be the same as the sprint car class. That would limit the front wheel width to 2.75 inches.
