I know, I know, it's not a radiator grill but it still looks like one. The part of course I'm referring to is #14 or the" solar scanner". In the kit I've got the "grating" is filled in a good deal and would be a nightmare to try and correct. Actually the back side in more or less perfect! Too, in a couple of places there are areas on the surface that didn't fill in very well (areas that should have) and they resemble push pin depressions, they aren't, but that gives you some idea of what I mean. Kinda like a short shot of sorts (say that 10 times). I just wanted to know if any of you have this problem. Suppose I should contact Moebius to see if they can replace deffective parts. Or did I get the only kit with a part like this? Other that that it seems to be a real fine kit. Can't wait to build it.

Thanks-

Hal, my grill was fine, hole wise. I just had to "bend" it a little, to straighten out a slight warping it seemed to have. I hear that Moebius is doing well with parts replacements, since alot of Chariot kits have some damage from the treads and tires during shipping. I'd say give them a try for a replacement. There is a link on here about "check your Chariot kits", that had info about contacting customer service for Moebius.

Best of luck....and the pod kit IS great! ( Get the Chariot......you'll love it! )

Sincerely,
Scorp.

Can you post a pic of the fill problem? If it's like I saw on one of mine, a quick run over the surface with a wide sanding stick should take care of it. Don't know about the other fit problem, though, sorry.

At first I thought you hit on something. Flash, flash was filling in the "grates" and all I had to do was sand down the surfice but I'm affraid it's not that easy. I suppose it is some sort of flash but flash on steriods. One reason, or rather two, is it looks to me the center of the "grate" is a little lower by design than the outer area. Can't be sure because on furhter inspection shows the part is warped like the other fellow said his was. So reason two is it looks like bad tooling but if that were the case then all the kits would have the same problem. I have to accept the fact that this is just a bad shot and my buddy that picked it up for me just HAD to pick that box. Anyway I would like to post some pics but it's a little hard when you don't have a digital camera.

Mine was a bit off too, kind of like there was a double mould sort of thingin one corner section. I just used a steady hand a a sharp pointy exaco knife and tweeked it a bit to thin out the lumps then gave it a light sand with some 800grit wet n dry paper. If you plan to paint it black and then dry brush the metalic grey on it then that chore is a must...:freak:
