I was wondering if a vintage rc10 gold pan or a rc10 dual sport would make a decent late model oval race car and could it still compete in todays oval dirt class

I certainly don't want to discourage you from racing but it would be asking a lot out of the old gold tub RC10 to keep up with today's cars. In my opinion the DS would be even worse. I remember them as fairly narrow.

my sprint car is out and it fast enough to run if I could drive the same every time. the gold rc 10 would get run over on the off road track with the new cars but it should dook on oval

One with a stealth tranny on a custom fabricated chassis plate that gets the motor ahead of the rear axle can still be competitive. The narrow track is not that much different from the current CW and other available chassis. Change out the bearings (to 3/8 x 3/16) and use 3/16 rear axles and you can use the current wheels and tires from CW, RC4Less, etc. Then its just good assembly and geometry that can put them up fromt.

I ran a B-3 as a dirt oval modified and had good luck with it. I managed to eek out some a-main wins. To me it just takes a little more work to get it right because the nose weight is not there. Forward bite was a little lacking too but it was a bear goin in. Good Luck with it. If you like wrenching on a car youll love using the b-3.
