Well, let's face it, its been circling the drain slowly.

I like the occasional DVD movie idea.

That sucks. I really like the show.

It's clearly the best show the SciFi channel has after Eureka. Their ratings should really fall now.

something like this is bound to happen once a show starts going thru as many cast changes as this one has.

Still a lot of good years for the two 'Gate shows. Longer than Sci-fi's norm.

I for one will miss it, it's one of the few shows I try to watch every week, can't get into Eureka for some reason. Like it when I remember it's on, just can't seem to remember to catch it all the time.

Crud.

Well, at least it sounds like it has a future in TV movies. My wife and I will miss it. I hope the third series happens and is a good one.

"new news" is redundant.

"new news" is redundant.

And, repetitious!!!

Hello, Department of Redundancy Department, how may I direct your call? :)

Old_McDonald

Well, I just hope they give it a good 3 hour "closure" on all of the loose ends. The movies can be separate, self contained stories.

So Atlantis is a myth...uh, miss?

That sucks! I like Atlantis and there is so little good content on SciFi... its more and more junk and reality crap. hell they show WRESTLING on there now!

They should just shut down the entire channel if they can't even live up to thier name!

:(

Eureka, Atlantis and Galactica are the only things worth watching on that channel and they are barely even on.

All we can do is to write to them and complain. At least, maybe we can get the director of broadcasting fired/replaced with someone who understands what SCI-FI is. The growth hormone, pumped up wrestlers are not normal, but they don't qualify as SciFi.

I can remember once when the channel offered a lot of older, classic content, older shows as repeats, good anime, and some specials. Clearly, this channel has been over run with people promoting their own self interest instead of the interest of the viewers and, as viewers, we need to write them and complain. Remind the board of directors what the channel used to be.

The Sci-fi channel is to Sci-Fi what Fox news is to real news. That pretty much sums it up.

Especially since Fox owns the SciFi Channel now....

Writing to the networks is like burning money. Pointless.

Especially since Fox owns the SciFi Channel now....

What? When did News Corp. buy it from NBC Universal?

The Sci-Fi channel probably dropped Atlantis to make more room in their programming for Professional Wrestling.

It's amazing how the potential breadth of cable programming results in homogeneity.

We had the Spike (Man) channel, that used to run MXC, James Bond marathons and such.....that has transformed itself into the CSI re-run channel -- The Girly-Man Channel.

The History channel no longer shows history shows. Ice Road Truckers, Monster Quest, UFO Hunters et al are now the staples.

Except for Stargate, the Sci-Fi channel is unwatchable.

I'd argue that there are still plenty of excellent History Shows on THC. A lot of them are just older programs that they run during the daytime. And to be realistic, they've run a veritable boat-load of shows on nearly all aspects of history from around the world and have possibly covered a LOT of known history that would be of interest to most folks who regularly watch THC.

As to SciFi, they've still got EUReKA to keep my interest going, plus re-run some other older SciFi and horror shows. Also, TNS BSG and SG:A have yet to finish out their series'. And then there's the upcoming Sanctuary (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0965394/) series with Amanda Tapping.

Glad I'm not the only one that remembers the early days of Sci-Fi Channel, Old McDonald! I miss their Animation Station...got to revisit my childhood with Filmation's JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH and FANTASTIC VOYAGE...

And when did The Learning Channel turn into the Home Decorating Channel? :freak:

Stargate Atlantis cancelled

:woohoo:

Ok, so I'm not a fan. Never did like it. And SG1 was barely tolerable. Only Amanda Tapping's "Charms" made either worth watching.

I'm constantly frustrated by the short run of Eureka each season. 8 episodes with a season finale? It doesn't matter to me that they'll do another set of episodes in 6 to 9 months. The constant it's there then gone short season approach leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm with you. This "mid-season break" stuff is extremely annoying and unsatistfying.

When I last checked, the programming director was a woman. What can anyone expect? Most women are not scifi fans. She's basically airing the cheapest, worse movies she can find along with ECW. She's not putting any thought into the programming. If you visit the Scifi channel website/forum, you'll see the cries of the fans being ignored. It's really amazing the channel hasn't gone bankrupt due to no viewers.
