Yes most all Green Machines and regular GL's are numbered. I believe I read a post on the GL Under the Hood club boards that the MCG 7 cars are a bit different. The collector numbers are on the underside of the hood. They had some new control numbers that needed to be on the base and did not have room for the collector numbers. They are making changes so that they can get all the numbers on the base again.

Yes, all green machines are numbered. It might be under the hood. Otherwise, if you have a blank white box on the bottom, it could be a produciton sample. Or, it could have simply missed the numbering machine.

Yep, as stated before, all are SUPPOSED to be numbered.
Some missed the machine and were hand numbered like this one of mine:

I believe the first series of MCG GMs has numbers mixed in with regular cars.
Subsequent releases had the Green Machines numbered seperately.
Depending on GM quantity, they usually are a 2 digit number if less than 100 were produced:

or a 3 digit number if more than 100 were produced:

The regulars follow the same scheme and pile up Zeros for the leading digits.

Then there were the 12 or so cases of "samples" that went out to K-Marts back in January. NONE of them had numbers on the white pad on the base.

OH, and not all releases have the white pad, as seen in my pics above. I WISH they all did, as my old eyes have a hard time reading black numbers on zamac ...... :( (hint to GreenLight).

scott, is this supposed to be for all of MCG7? i only have the chevelles and the chargers but all of them have the number on the base where they normally are.:confused:

IIRC, it is only the Mustangs from MCG7 that do not have the numbers on the bases. All of the others DO.

Sorry about that, I guess it is only the Mustangs. Since I only collect Mustangs, I haven't seen the others yet. DOH !
