Are all the Green Machines numbered?
And if I had one with no number, what would it be?

View Full Version : #'rd Green Machines? Mr.Stubbs 08-19-2008, 07:43 PM Are all the Green Machines numbered? And if I had one with no number, what would it be? Scott Moen 08-19-2008, 08:24 PM Are all the Green Machines numbered? And if I had one with no number, what would it be? Yes most all Green Machines and regular GL's are numbered. I believe I read a post on the GL Under the Hood club boards that the MCG 7 cars are a bit different. The collector numbers are on the underside of the hood. They had some new control numbers that needed to be on the base and did not have room for the collector numbers. They are making changes so that they can get all the numbers on the base again. Hope this helps. Take care and have a great week Sir. Scott GLH Turbo 08-19-2008, 08:33 PM Yes, all green machines are numbered. It might be under the hood. Otherwise, if you have a blank white box on the bottom, it could be a produciton sample. Or, it could have simply missed the numbering machine. SSizler 08-20-2008, 07:56 PM Hi Bert, Yep, as stated before, all are SUPPOSED to be numbered. Some missed the machine and were hand numbered like this one of mine: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v255/SSizler/Green%20Machines/GM64MaxWedgeHandwritten039_2.jpg I believe the first series of MCG GMs has numbers mixed in with regular cars. Subsequent releases had the Green Machines numbered seperately. Depending on GM quantity, they usually are a 2 digit number if less than 100 were produced: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v255/SSizler/Green%20Machines/GM2007CamaroVertbase07.jpg or a 3 digit number if more than 100 were produced: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v255/SSizler/Green%20Machines/1-2Bees2.jpg The regulars follow the same scheme and pile up Zeros for the leading digits. Then there were the 12 or so cases of "samples" that went out to K-Marts back in January. NONE of them had numbers on the white pad on the base. OH, and not all releases have the white pad, as seen in my pics above. I WISH they all did, as my old eyes have a hard time reading black numbers on zamac ...... :( (hint to GreenLight). I hope that helps a little. See ya Friday! Jim Pewter02WS6 08-20-2008, 08:31 PM I believe I read a post on the GL Under the Hood club boards that the MCG 7 cars are a bit different. All of the others DO. Scott Moen 08-21-2008, 05:49 AM Sorry about that, I guess it is only the Mustangs. Since I only collect Mustangs, I haven't seen the others yet. DOH !
