View Full Version : 1/10 and 1/8 scale Oval racing at Ingalls Motor Speedway
fselzer 08-18-2008, 09:30 AM Just to let everyone know. We are running 10th scale nitro and electric touring cars and 7-8th scale GTP cars at Ingalls Motor Speedway in Ingalls Indiana (1.5 miles east of Fortville). If you join R-Car club you get a key to the entry gate, and you can practice whenever you like. We're just starting out and working out the details with the 1/4 scale guys (they race on this track also). Right now it is just practice and some impromtu racing. We use the AMB scoring system. We generally meet every Saturday morning at 9:00 am. We are trying to set up races on every other Saturday. The 1/4 scale guys race two Saturdays per month. We would race the other two. R-Car club dues are $85.00 per year. Contact club president Doug Gray at 317-468-5834 or Floyd Selzer at 317-569-6005 or email us at rcar_industries@yahoo.com. See you at the track:wave:
nutz4rc 08-18-2008, 08:09 PM Could I find a class for 1/8th electric late model? What tires would I need?
fselzer 08-19-2008, 07:27 AM I'm running an 1/8th scale GTP car with slicks and I get good hook-up.
fselzer 08-19-2008, 09:18 AM FYI. I am running HPI foams (D37 on rears and E40 on the front) on my 10th scale sedan. The track surface is ashpalt, very smooth with banked turns.
jason crist 08-19-2008, 09:08 PM your 10th scale sedan
brushless ?
lipo ?
what motor ?
what body ?
when is the 1st saturday ?
how much when racing starts for entry ?
i have my 1/4 scale membership already
so i don't have to pay anything but entry ?
thanks for the time and awnsers to my questions in advance
thanks
jason
fselzer 08-31-2008, 02:00 PM For electric it will probably be BRL rules. My car is an NTC3. I also have an ofna GTP. We are still working out the details as far as race fees or club dues.
Would people rather have higher race entry and practice fees or annual club dues with reduced entry fees? We want to do what people want.
nutz4rc 08-31-2008, 09:11 PM Thanks for info, I need to try this out.
Brad Boling 08-31-2008, 09:23 PM Jason brought up a good point... What if you are an IQSR & QSAC mamber like Jason and I are? We shouln't have to pay the $85.00 to join your club to race but the entry fee. Sounds interesting though...
fselzer 09-02-2008, 12:24 PM As far as I know you are correct. If you are a member of IQSR then your club dues would probably be reduced.
Is $85.00 annually too much? What we need to do is set a time that we could all meet at the track to discuss where this thing is headed. Everyones input is appreciated. Tell as many people about this as you can so that we can get some direction.
jason crist 09-02-2008, 08:43 PM we can discuss alot on here
$85 is high
for those not a member of IQSR
but a membership fee would be good
yes we pay like $45 for ingalls membership
ANd $35 OR SO FOR QSAC
i think this is a good thing for 1/10th scale and 1/4 racing
since 1/10th scale is dying here in central Indiana
1/4 scale has picked up new racers and is doing good
now maybe we can get some of the 1/4 scale to come racing 1/10th scale in the winter
and 1/10th scale to go 1/4 scale in the summer.........
I would love to run or race my 1/10 oval pan car there, but would not want to pay for a full Qsac membership. So I would be willing maybe to pay for a membership to just use the track for practice or for any 1/10 electric organized races.
Brad Boling 09-02-2008, 10:03 PM Yes $85 is a little high. $50 for IQSR, $40 for QSAC ($50 if you subscribe with a printed newsletter) I could understand if you are giving a cut of the membership to the IQSR. A few of the club members put a lot of their own time and money into that track making it what it is today...

fselzer 09-03-2008, 01:18 PM Of the $85, I believe that up to $50 could go to IQSR club. We are still talking to Todd about all this. Do both of you have 1/4 scale cars? In the meantime, I still think that we could all meet at the track for some practice and some racing if we could get access to the scoring system or even if we just counted laps for now.
Any ideas?
