Bugzy 08-16-2008, 03:11 PM ...Had some time to check the diecast aisle at Walmart today...lots of empty pegs...and NEW signs on some..in small lettering on an empty 4 peg set was written "Muscle Car Garage" 1/64 scale...all I could think of was is this Greenlight???....the stock girl had no idea when I asked her about it...can anyone shed any light on whether Greenlight will be sold here in Canada at Walmarts?..thanks
SSizler 08-16-2008, 04:58 PM Yes, Walmart Canada will be carrying GreenLight cars.
This has been confirmed on the Club message boards.
Good luck with your new shopping selection. I hope they stock cars you like.

rattlehed 08-16-2008, 10:45 PM Good luck to all in Canada! Happy to see you guys and gals FINALLY getting GL at retail. Now the test will be CAN WM keep the pegs stocked or will it be JL all over again?
fly__life 08-17-2008, 10:08 AM The only one hobby store that I knew carried GL cars was kind enough to sell them for $8.95 each .... or buy 3 get 1 free. Amen to WM!
whitese 08-17-2008, 01:03 PM The ones I have been able to get have all come from the hobby store at around $8each. If this is in fact true, I can't wait.

....let me know if you see any at your local Walmarts showing up...will do the same...have noted the price will be $4.92 should be a welcome sight to see at a reasonable price for a change, huh?:)
Trolleydodger 08-24-2008, 12:55 PM Does anybody know what the release numbers for the Street & Strip issue are?
I have not seen a car numbered higher than 1700.
Bugzy 08-24-2008, 02:35 PM ..Hi Trolleydodger... Welcome to hobbytalk...!!!
....have you already seen some of the new Muscle Car Garage Release 8 Street and Strip?....are they showing up at a Walmart near you?..or available at a Hobby store?....according to 1 Stop Diecast the numbers will be 7,000 of each..
Trolleydodger 08-24-2008, 05:57 PM Hi, Thanks for the welcome. Finally decided to register after lurking for about 6 years or so.
Yes, I picked up a set of them at walmart this morning. There were 4 of each casting. I thought it was odd that the all the numbers were so low. I was figuring that maybe there were only 2000 or 2500 of each.
NorthernMuscle 08-26-2008, 08:12 PM Yep, it's true. I picked up the Orange Daytona Charger (#0113) and red RR convt. @ $4.92. I hope it will continue!!! I think it's strange though that I buy them before they're even on the GL website?
Serria 1 08-26-2008, 10:44 PM Found them today as well

GL web site says 7000 each Canada must have received the first shipment for the low numbers.
Bugzy 08-28-2008, 06:09 PM ...still 4 empty pegs here in Eastern Canada...looks like they have shown up mostly in Alberta so far....did they put out 4 sets of 6 cars ?...and did anyone find a Green Machine among them?.....nice cars...!...thanks for posting..

They are here in Ontario now. I hit 4 stores and no Green Machines to be found. At the first store they put out 3 inner cases, 2nd store was 2 inner cases, 3rd store don't know as they only had 3 Mustangs and the Chevelle left but at least 2 inners, and the last store had 3 inner cases. 1 inner case = 12 cars = 2 sets of 6 cars. I got to the last store today around noon and they had put out the cases this morning. I hope I didn't miss a Green Machine.

There is a guy at one of the flea markets who hoards all the Superbirds & Daytonas whenever they first show up on the pegs, so they can be tough to find.

Why am I not surprised at this in Calgary.I wont even waste my time by going to ether flea market unless I need a good laugh at the prices.
Now it is just waiting for the next wave to show up.
Good thing i picked up one when I did.

Major Nelson 08-31-2008, 11:54 PM Found my first Greenlight cars here in Quebec today. Grabbed all 6 cars from MCG 8. All of them low numbers too. :p
Awesome!!!
No3forever 09-01-2008, 05:55 PM When people are talking about the numbers are they talking about the white tag on the base? I found a Charger Daytona #0002. Are lower numbers more desirable to collectors?

Yes, those are the numbers. Each car is sequentially numbered from 1-whatevertheproductionrunis. It depends on the collector wether or not you like the low numbers, but I'd say generally speaking, they are *slightly* more desireable. The best thing about have a low number is that you could possibly find the matching number in the Green Machine so you could have a matching set. It is rare for the retail releases to have a matching set.
NYSWLHUNTER 09-03-2008, 12:52 AM wow congrats!
