NSCS Custom Works King of The Wings Sept 12-13

Allen’s R/C Raceway in Rochester, IL will host the 2nd Annual Custom Works King of the Wings race on September 12th -13th. In addition this year race will serve as the final event for the 2008 NSCS North Series.

Last Fall the Inaugural King of the Wings saw the crowning of King Mark I Mark Corns. Mark took home the Electric and Nitro Sprint wins and cool $350 for his efforts. Close to 80 Sprint Cars were on hand and those drivers split a purse of over $900 along with some very nice sponsor donated items. This year the car, purse, and sponsor count is growing even larger.

Friday September 12th we will kick off all the racing action at 7:30pm for the Truespeed Twin 40’s. fun warm-up event will let racers dial in for the big show with 2 qualifying heats and Twin 40 lap A Features for each class. Entry fee is just $10

Saturday September 13th The Second Annual CUSTOM WORKS “King of the Wings”Controlled Practice beginning at 11am, with a drivers meeting at 3pm.
At 3:30 Driver will line up for Single Round Qualifying. 3 laps on the track show what you got. The Fast qualifier will not only have bragging right for the night he will be guaranteed a Provisional starting spot (9th) should he not make it to the A-main. Qualifying time will also seed the heat for Round 2.

Rounds 2 and 3 will see traditional 4 minute IFMAR qualifying with resorts after each. The top 6 drivers will lock into the A-main. 2 Drivers will bunp-up form the B and 1 driver from the c-mains and lower.

Electric Sprint and 1/8 Late Models will be 50 laps. Nitro Sprint and EDM/Truck will be 40 Laps (All lower mains will be 4 minutes)

Entry Fee is $20 for the first class, $15 for each additional.

For 2008 track owner Allen Mendenhall is Guaranteeing a minimum CASH payout of $1600 with the potential of growing even larger

Looks like quite a race, doesn' it?

Heck ya man! Central IL is buzzing with big races this summer! Big Bills "Money Race" was 2 weeks ago and that was a BLAST!!! I believe 146 cars showed up and now this. Cannot wait!!! Another big race to add to my resume!!!
