Good morning all. I will get right to the point. I have the first three years of MM including most chase cars. I fell in love with them right away so I contacted a dealer to supply me with all the new cars that came out. This was a big mistake as the guy was unscrupulous and seen fit to rob me by overcharging (Twice retail and some times far more) on every car. The deal was for retail only on new product and he would be my only provider. Shame on me for not checking my charge card sooner.
Anyway, I have them in a loft in the original shipping cartons (from China) doing nothing. I lost my taste for them because of the hole deal. I would like to free up some space. What should I do with them? How can I sell them besides Ebay without getting robbed again? Or, Should I hold on to them for the time being?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Give 'em to me. (hey, you SAID any advice!)
Anyway, MM didn't do chase cars until the newest releases. They had white tire cars which were only sold through the hobby outlets. As far as selling them, you'll hear lots of opinions. You could try selling them on the boards. You could try selling them individually or as sets.
Hop on over to Joe's and say Hi on the Muscle Machines board. A lot more Machine heads over there that don't visit this board. We'll help you out. See ya there!

Kool, Thanks. I will check them out.

Aren't Raw, Thank you, double logo and race sets chase cars. I tink I have white tire sets but I am not sure. I have not looked at them for a while.

No, the raw and race sets were limited editions but that's not the same thing as a chase car. They were readily available through the regular dealers. Double logo was simply a factory variation and was also not a chase car. Only chase cars are in the very newest series that came out this year.

Also, most MM do not sell well on the resale market. There are exceptions but search of e-bay will show many blister-pack cars listed for a few bucks and going unsold. Especially if you over-paid for them initially, you will be unlikely to get close to your money back. If you must get rid of them, I would e-bay the limiteds and give the rest to Toys for Tots and deduct the full market value as a charitable contribution on your taxes. Or set up a table at a local hot-rod show and sell them.

Hey Kustoms, welcome to the boards. These guys will give you good advice. Sorry to hear you've lost the "zest" for MMs. I would listen to chopper & head over to Joe's. There are some very serious Muscle Machine heads who may be interested in your limiteds. I would post here on the S/S boards as well. There are alot of good people on these boards:thumbsup::wave:

I think the "Thank You" car would likely generate the most interest for collectors wanting to complete their collections. You just need to find the right person. Again, lotsa traffic at Joes, and often people show up there looking for cars, but not posting.

Good luck!
