BBQ-

thats OK. If I am that close to the fastest truck and greatest driver out there. I'll be very content with myself. I know my position in life. lol. But if I do get a chance to pass you, please make your truck as narrow as possible. Thanks.

whoaaaaaaaaa...is the word alright. They were not ready to handle soo many entries, 230+ entries, 26 heats, program was scheduled to start @ 10 am, started around 12:30, by 4pm the first round was done and the 2nd was on it's way, I left after my 2nd run around 9:15pm.

The track was good, nice layout, fast laps were mid 20s, surface hard packed, and probably by midnight it was blue groove...lol...all in all it was fun, nice weather, track in good conditions, the program could have been smoother.......

Ron and Linda were strictly a victim of too many entries - 237 entries and 27 heats is impossible to handle for a one day club race. Nice problem to have, though! The only real issues were problems getting everyone in the computer - the large majority had obviously never run there before - and even though they were expecting a big turnout, I think everyone was still surprised by the numbers. Once they got everyone in and running, the day went some smoothly and the heats got off quickly...there were just a lot of them. You have to remember that this is a club race with a full electric program that also ran - 2 heats of 1/10th 2wd buggy, two heats of electric truck, two heats of gas truck, a full heat of 1/10th 4wd, two heats of Slash and a heat of 1/18th electric...plus 80 some buggies and 70 some truggies, and a heat of MT.

The track was really awesome - fast, smooth and swoopy - and had a black rubber groove coming up by the end of round 1. It never blew out. It is a lot different than anything else we run on - a lot of fun. It sounds like the race at Madness had a real good turnout too - 105 entries - so there was a lot of good racing going on in the NE yesterday. It was in the 60s, the sun was out, it was early April and I was racing outdoors for the third weekend in a row and I was wearing a T shirt. I'm 57 and still hanging around with the other overgrown kids laughing and having fun and playing with toy cars. The only bad choice yesterday was to stay home and sit on the internet and try to convince everyone else who was having fun why they really weren't having fun.

hey bbq how did u qualify before u left and how did u like the 2.0?

Toiffel
04-06-2009, 12:10 PM
Considering it was the virgin run, I did ok on my first qualy, bad chioce of tires ran the stock, first impression, was holy cow, now this is what it feels to have steering!!!! Truck is insane in and out of the turns, much more responsive than the 1.0, jumps great at with the flick of the throttle very easy to balance it out if it got upset. Second qualif much better, ran the city blocks, truck was dialed, I had a smile from ear to ear, couple of guys ran 14 laps (Mazzara, Tongue...don't know if anyone else) I ran a late 13, guessing somewhere in the B maybe, more than that I really like the truck, can't wait to run it again!! Great first impressions.
