We will be posting are schedule shortly. This should be a really good year for the track. We are getting a lot of new guys coming in from the offroad track and from the oval so get them off the shelf and start getting them ready. The schedule will be posted by the end of the week. And just so everyone knows, the carpet will be streched and reglued so it should be even better than last year.

So, carpet oval won't start until Nov and be on Fridays instead of Saturday like last year? Sounds like your classes have eliminated almost all of your pan car racers from last year.

Where the stock brushed class at?

There was a mistake in the scheduling. The indoor oval is on Sat. beginning Nov. 1. Its always been on Sat. and it will remain. When we were doing the scheduling for all the tracks something got moved which will be fixed on the post soon. Thanks

I think the 17.5 WT packs would be very close to the stock motors we ran last year w/WT packs so I think we could run them together. It would be worth a try.

I'd run:

21.5 Lipo, BRL rules
Spec Truck, I'd go for the 17.5 and Windtunnel packs.

Why are we starting inside so late? Onroad was originally scheduled to start on September 7, so stretching the carpet is not the reason. The average low temperature in this area, for October, is 43.5°. It's not going to be much fun running outside on an October night. If we're still on the dirt oval the people watering the track will need frostbite protection.

The indoor season usually starts in October and people might start looking and look somewhere else.

I know that it has been posted on here somewhere, but since I now own a Losi LM and I have another one on the way. What are the rules pertaining to them? Battery size, any changes allowed? If so, what ones.

Thanks, and just link me to the post.

We have not run them on the carpet yet but on the dirt oval we are running them box stock except for a rear tire change. For batteries we are using 2/3a 1400 commercially available packs. I know the 1400's are on their way out so we might have to go to 1600's. We can use any Spektrum radio. For inside, I assume it will be the same with the ability to use Slider tires if traction is an issue. I'll try and find out tomorrow.

The BRL is going to use the SMC 3200 LiPo. I say we go with this but allow the 3200 Orions, that people have, to run also.

dont You think the racers

nonspec tires to use???

Robertw321
08-16-2008, 08:13 AM
Spec tires worked well last year. It takes the tire game out of the picture. With everyone on similar rubber it makes for good close racing. Spec tires are relatively cheap and with a BSR sliver on the RF and gold on the RR long lasting. If this class flys it will draw the racers from our brushed spec class. They already have the spec tires.

I know a few of us already have a boxful of regular tires, I've got a boxful of spec tires also, but at least the people in this discussion plan to run 21.5 too so we have somewhere to use these tires.

I vote for BSR spec tires but let any Trinity/TRC spec tires that are still around run also. There's no advantage with the old tires and the blues and greens wear out fast.

Sounds good to me Bob, but also allow TM & Murdock since they make spec tires also, in case someone already has them. I assume you're planning on running 21.5 also? I'll be running the Orion lipo since I have several already but would replace it with SMC when the time comes.

Steve what is the differnce in spec truck and bush. At the end of the season spec truck was bring your own motor beginning was handouts. are we doing spec truck our own (seeing as were talking about 17.5 and 27turn together)and bush as handout? or is it same rules between the two classes just differnt bodies? Just trying to see what your take is steve.

I didnt know were an how to post this????
I think that the 4 or 5 tracks that we all
can race at, should try and have the same kind
of RULES... So if we want to race around
we dont have a BIG car change over
What Im trying to say is 17.5
would be with stock, an 21.5 lipo an 13.5 4 cell
An a spec truck class 17.5 WT batts..
Just trying to keep oval going....
Not trying to tell or run any ones
track....

JW#62 I agree

I would like to see fewer classes.

17 4cell and Stock (Stock)
13.5 4cell and 21.5 lipo (Super Stock)
10.5 4cell and 17.5 lipo (Pro Mod)
Open mod 4cell or lipo (Open Mod)

A slower spec class would be good, but trying to get 5 differant tracks to agree will be difficult. My .02

I will be racing (Pro Mod) 17.5 Lipo. Who else?

17 4cell and Stock (Stock)
13.5 4cell and 21.5 lipo (Super Stock)

Do these run comparable speeds? Another problem is what do you do with the racers that don't want to switch to brushless and/or LiPo yet? You can't tell them to just go away. This evening, I mentioned mixing classes to one of our 19t racers. He was less than enthusiastic.

For this to work the track owners would have to get together to set up a rules package. We, the racers can only make suggestions. Most racers only know what goes on and seems to be good for their local track. Last year I raced spec truck at two tracks. The rules were slightly different. I'm reasonably positive track A would not change their rules to match track B and track B would not change their rules to match track A.

Bob,

When I made the post, I knew the 19T racers would not like it. I think 19T speeds are in between Super Stock and Pro Mod. Maybe have a class in the begining to see how many racers run 19T and to see the lap times. Then go from there.

i think if you start running different brands of spec tires then your right back to the tire war again! who to say that one company spec tires arent a little better than anothers? no different then running any compound of bsr,tm or murdock tires. all tires are readily available to anyone and if your not going to stick to one brand then they all should be legal but that just my .02 cents!

1)Yes they are comparable in speeds.
2)There is a brushless class comparable
to a brushed class,
so the brushed would run with there comparable class.
No U cant send racers away.
Mixing classes would help racers make the switch. I would think??
I would think if a brushed racer went brushless he would be GLAD he did..??

Cecil,
I somewhat agree, but back when ARCOR spec classes required spec tires, all brands were legal but most racers ended up running BSR tires. I don't think its as much of an issue with spec tires as it is with regular tires. I was only trying to keep some racers from buying new tires that may have boxes of tires(other brands) already such as when Walt required Trinity/TRC tires. I know of several racers that have boxes of other brand spec tires htey could use without spending more $. It seemed to work OK last year with any brand. Anything we can do to encourage more racers without spending more $ is bound to help the class and hobby.
