Guys,

Can you recomend any good sources for Kyosho 1:64 releases, especially the older releases? I tried Henri's Tiny Toy Cars, but most of what I'm looking for is sold out.

Thanks!

There are a couple of Japanese web sites that I get my "beads" collection from. Hobbylink Japan, and Hobby world International. The cars are usually about 14 to 15 bucks plus the usual 7-8 dollars for shipping, however, this is still cheaper than what I see on OFAS. I haven't found a site that sells the Kyosho Minicars yet(Toy east has limited stock and is ridiculously overpriced, you can do better on OFAS)

I'll take a look at Hobbylink Japan and Hobby World International, thanks. What's OFAS? Is that a reference to E_Bay?

OFAS= our favorite auction site(Ebay). From your list, OFAS is about the best alternative. I like the racing versions too, and have yet to get the Ferrari Racing collection cars, specifically, the 430 and 550/575, as these cost more than the regular minicars.

Yes, ebay would be the best choice for these older models. But, as someone wrote on the other thread, be sure to get models WITH original packaging (box, blister and card). Some sellers have cars without original box, there is a higher risk of getting a lower quality model (didn't pass Kyosho's quality test).

I got some directly from Japan, and the shipping was reasonably priced, and also didn't take too long - 1 week to max 3 weeks (only one package took this long). Shipping costs also get lower if you get more models at once.

Do a little research what each seller has to offer and then bid all the actions at this seller to cut the shipping costs.

So... here you are, now I revealed all my secret tactics...:lol:

I didn't know this. I recently bought one of the Porsche 934 racing diecast. I lost out on an auction for one and the seller gave me the opportunity to buy one (2nd chance?), and stated it would be without a box. So my little orange Jaggermeister Porsche is of low quality? It looks darn good to me, but would have preferred to get the box, base and card:(

Fast Eddie: Well, it's not a general rule, as I'm sure you can get a flawless model without the original packaging.

I'm just suspicious why would anyone want to sell Kyoshos without the original box (or at least a card), as these reach significantly lower prices on ebay. It's also interesting that these models often appear at Chinese ebayers, but Kyoshos are only sold in Japan. Maybe they just have some other sources... :p

Now that you mention it, my Tipo 61 came in the box from Japan while my 300 Nissan came without a box and from China....hummmmmm. I now wonder why as well.
