Hilltop Raceway 08-07-2008, 11:12 PM Rocket City Raceway belongs to a friend in Huntsville. It's a custom routed track. Try posting a message on this board. RM TennesseeHORacing@yahoogroups.com Jim Norton 08-11-2008, 04:18 PM I am unaware of any organized racing here in Huntsville. I would enjoy learning about any! As far as work and living go...Huntsville is a great place. I have been here for 22 years and never even considered moving! Jim Norton Huntsville, Alabama oddrods 08-13-2008, 10:38 AM That's cool. The company that is courting me is making it very hard not to accept. What's the humidity like in those parts? Coming from Tucson AZ I know it's going to be higher but I was wondering by just how much. Jim Norton 08-13-2008, 12:42 PM My wife and I visited the Grand Canyon for our honeymoon and could not believe it was in the 90s and we did not even break a sweat! Back here, humidity is tough! Some days in the summer it will about knock you down! But otherwise, the area is great. It even snows occasionally! Jim Norton Huntsville, Alabama oddrods 08-16-2008, 12:00 PM Hey Jim, I should know within the next week if I'm moving but it looks promising. If I do move one of the first things I'll do when I get a permanent place to live is set up a track. For the first month I'll more than likely be in an apartment plus I'll be busy getting settled but after that I'll be working hard to get up and running. What type of cars do you run? I'm a Tjet guy myself and I run mostly for fun. when I race with my buddies now we only have 2 classes for the most part. 1st is a skinny tire class which only allows slip ons and brushes and aluminum wheels if you want. The fat tire class we run is almost an unlimited class running slip on's. We don't run fray style cars and when I build my track I probably won't be running fray style cars either. I plan on building a landscaped multi elavation 4 lane road course using Tomy track for now. later I might give routing a try but that's way off.
